1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Safari Style, An Alternate To The 911 Dakar

An alternative to the newly launched Porsche 911 Dakar, a more classic iteration of the off-road 911 model has been listed up on the Bring A Trailer site.
Modified by STRAAT in 2019, this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Safari Style has a 3.2-litre flat-six engine mated to a G50 five-speed manual gearbox, and a mileage of 437,742 Km.

Its Baltic Blue Metallic exterior comes with custom front and rear bumper protection bars, a Getty Design ducktail spoiler, and a Fabspeed Motorsport stainless-steel exhaust system.
What’s more, it features Cibie LED auxiliary lights, Warn Powersport hooks, RSR-Style sway bars, custom skid plates for underbody protection, and a roof rack for the spare tire.

Besides that, it uses Von Shocks suspension and adjustable coil springs, and triple-powder-coated metallic gray 15-inch BRAID Fullrace TA alloy rims, with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires.
Inside, there are leather-wrapped Recaro Ergomed ES seats with heating and cooling functions, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel and a four-point cage by Custom Cages of Daventry.

Then, it is also installed with a Blaupunkt digital media system, a JL Audio amplifier and speakers, and Griffiths air-conditioning system.
Topping it all off, its VDO instrument panel has been updated with a 160 Mph (257 Km/h) speedometer, a 6,300 rpm redline tachometer, a pair of extra gauges, and an analog clock.

All in all, it took STRAAT 20 months to complete this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, which came in Guards Red exterior before getting decked out with the Safari specifications.
That said, at the time of writing this article, the bid price for it was ringing at USD 170,000 (MYR 772,140).
