500 Units Of the BYD Atto 3 Heading For Malaysia
Hype surrounding the new BYD Atto 3 all-electric crossover SUV model launched in Dec last year has reached fever-pitch. Just 10 days after its official launch, importers and distributors BYD SD Motors Malaysia (part of Sime Darby Motors – SDM) had already amassed over 1,000 bookings for the Atto 3.
In response to this overwhelmingly positive reaction, the Chinese electric car brand has stepped up its efforts to speed up deliveries of said initial orders. This week, the brand took to social media via the BYD Asia Pacific Facebook page announcing that it has shipped 500 units of the Atto 3 for Malaysia.
The announcement of these 500 Malaysia-bound units by the brand comes barely a month since it officially launched both itself as a marque and the Atto 3 model in Malaysia. The firm even took the opportunity to highlight its robust supply chain and in-house production capacity in the announcement.
Initially offered as fully-imported (CBU) offerings, the BYD Atto 3 is marketed locally in two variants – Standard Range (SR) and Extended Range (ER). Both carry attractive prices of RM149,800 and RM167,800 respectively, and come laden with plenty of tech, performance, and style to boot.
Included in said prices too are three separate warranties, the first being a factory warranty lasting for 6-years or 150,000 KM, followed by an 8-year or 160,000 KM warranty for the EV battery itself, as well as an 8-year or 150,000 KM warranty covering the motor, motor controller, DC assembly, and electric control assembly.
