All-electric Porsche Macan E-Performance Details Released

Electrification will see Porsche expand its electric vehicles (EVs) line up with the introduction of the Macan E-Performance very soon Also dubbed as the Macan EV, Porsche says it’ll begin reaching customers sometime next year, and it will be key to the brand’s goal in electrifying over 80% of its deliveries by 2030.
With that, the famed sportscar marque has dished out details about the new all-electric crossover SUV ahead of its official debut, providing a peek at what to expect. There’s indeed much to expect here.

Upon its market release, Porsche looks set to offer the Macan E-Performance with a Performance rear axle, but this is “depending on the model,” according to the firm. This hardware grants the crossover with a 48:52 weight distribution ratio revealed by Porsche last November, along with other powertrain details.

This, along with dual-motor all-wheel drive and rear-axle steering – seen for the first time in the Macan model – is aimed at improving its agility. Said Performance rear axle will also be paired with a fully revised double wishbone front suspension assembly with a detached strut level.
At the rear, the Macan E-Performance gets multi-link type rear suspension, and it will be connected to the body via an elastically mounted subframe, with the automaker fastening the rear electric drive unit to said structure. Top-tier versions will also get brimmed with the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system – essentially, this is an electronically controlled rear axle differential lock.

One key new feature will be the two-valve shock absorbers hardware for the Porsche Active Suspension Management system. These, according to Porsche, promise greater damper characteristics via independent adjustability, and will be available with either steel or air suspensions. Wheel sizes will reach up to 22 inches plus staggered tyre widths for the front and rear to accommodate the Macan E-Performance’s rear-biased weight distribution.
With these new details, we now have a better idea of what the Macan E-Performance will be like. Sources report that up to 603 HP ( 450 kW) and over 1,000 NM will be available in its highest configuration. Furthermore, it will also feature the suspension, technology, and features to harness it all.

Besides that, the upcoming Porsche Macan E-Performance, which underpins the jointly developed PPE platform, will be primed with a lithium-ion battery pack with about 100 kWh plus an 800-volt architecture that can recharge from 5% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
In terms of range, this remains undisclosed for now, and it will likely be one of several details that will be announced during its official debut, which many speculate will happen later this year. Sales for the electric crossover were supposed to start in 2023, but this was delayed due to issues with Volkswagen Group’s software division.
