Next Generation Maserati Levante Is Getting an Electric Powertrain

Maserati’s flagship SUV, the Levante, is set to enter the market circa 2025, and reports indicate that it will transition from a combustion engine to a fully-electrified one too.
Adding on to that, the model will ride on an upgraded and electrified version of Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform which is utilised by both the ICE and EV versions of the GranTurismo sportscar and the smaller Grecale SUV.

Notably, all-wheel drive will also come standard in the Levante on top of a variety of engine outputs. The most powerful type will very certainly get the same trio of electric motors as the new GranTurismo Folgore that outputs 751 HP and 1,350 NM.
These stats are a huge improvement over the existing Maserati Levante Trofeo which produces 580 HP and 729 NM stemming from a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 mill.

Set to rival against other EV luxury SUVs like the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUB, Audi Q8 e-tron, and Lotus Eletre, the next generation Levante is anticipated to be the last member to be inducted into Maserati's first electrified fleet, joining the Folgore versions of the Grecale, Granturismo, Grancabrio, MC20, and upcoming Quattroporte.
First launched in 2016, the Levante also underwent a mid-life refresh in 2020 where the range welcomed a new mild hybrid variant. Currently, the combustion-powered Levante is a popular alternative to vehicles such as the Porsche Cayenne. It’s currently available locally through importers Naza Italia where it commands a base price tag of RM808,800.
