Gran Turismo 7 Feb 2023 Update – 5 New Cars, 1 New Track And PS VR2 Support Added

The February 2023 update for Gran Turismo 7 releases this week. With it comes a raft of newly added cars, circuits, and features.

Headlining this month’s update is of course the addition of 5 new cars, those being the 1965 Honda RA272 classic Formula 1 racer, 1970 Citroen DS 21 Pallas, 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS, as well as the Italdesign Exeneo Vision Gran Turismo concept in both Street and Off-Road forms.

Cars aside, the Feb 2023 update also sees developers bringing back a legendary fictional track called Grand Valley. A huge favourite amongst fans, the track finally returns to the title, and players can choose to race it across to layouts – Highway 1 and South.

Of course, all this additional content pales in comparison against perhaps the most significant new addition to the game, by which we mean PS VR2 support. Said virtual reality goggles headset, which releases this month, gives players access to all of the races and game modes, except for 2P Split Screen. There’s also a VR Showroom feature in the Garage area enabled through this update.

Additionally, Gran Turismo 7 takes advantage of PS VR2's foveated rendering feature. It uses the headset's eye-tracking ability to display the area where the player is looking in high definition. Furthermore, it also supports 3D audio playback.

Other new additional content include a new Gran Turismo Sophy AI racing agent that's available from Feb 21 until the end of March. It sees developers using player feedback to improve this mode in the future.

Finally, there's a new Drift Stage backdrop in the Scapes photography section, which also includes a tutorial to help players through the steps of taking photos of a drifting vehicle.

Roll-out of Gran Turismo 7’s Feb 2023 update begins this week from Feb 20 onwards at 10:00 PM PST (February 21 at 1:00 AM EST or 6:00 AM GMT).
