New Volvo Sportscar Plus 6 New EV Models Reportedly Planned

Volvo is reportedly keen on introducing a new sportscar model, though there seems to be no firm indication yet as to when this might happen. According to its CEO Bjorn Annwall, he asserts that Volvo needs a flagship model and that he is open to the idea of a sports car.
Annwall wouldn't say whether the car company was developing a new two-door vehicle, but did acknowledge the popularity of such vehicles. “Every car brand needs a bit of spice that helps kind of push the boundaries of what the car really is, and I think Volvo should have those complimentary car products as well,” he said.

On a different note, the Swedish marque is set to introduce at least six new battery-powered electric vehicle models by 2026. A recent report online indicates that Volvo is working to build out its range of SUVs, including all-electric models like the EX30, EX40, EX60, and EX90. It is only after these models hit the market that Volvo could turn its attention to a sportscar.
Adding to that, Volvo intends to introduce its own iteration of the Zeekr 009 MPV for the Asian market. The styling of the MPV will be tweaked to fit the Volvo brand’s design language, and there may be other changes made to the powertrain as well.
Presently, all attention at Volvo revolves around its newest flagship EX90 electric SUV model. Revealed not too long ago, it packs a massive 111 kWh battery pack that promises up to 600 KM of travel on a single charge. It also stands as the most potent EV to bear the Swedish marque brand, boasting up to 510 HP and 910 NM in Performance trim.
