MINI EV Charging Station Activates In Seremban

Heads up MINI owners, authorised BMW, BMW Motorrad and MINI dealers Millennium Welt have activated the first MINI-branded electric vehicle (EV) charging facility in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The station was set up by said dealers in partnership with Matrix Concept Holdings Sdn Bhd (MCHB).
Powered by local EV charging provider ChargeEV, the new station features a single 11 kW AC Wallbox, and it’s located at the main parking entrance of d’Tempat Country Club, Bandar Sri Sendayan, Seremban. It can be accessed by the public between 9AM to 11 PM daily, commanding a standard rate of RM5 for every 20 minutes of use.

“We are thrilled to introduce the first facilities for the charging of EVs for the brand MINI in Seremban, supporting the growing need for more charging infrastructure in the area, in light of the increasing positive reception for electrified vehicles amongst our customers here,” said Bryan Wong, Managing Director of Millennium Welt, after officially launching the facility last week.
Wong adds that, to date, Millennium Welt has successfully delivered over 140 units of electrified BMW and MINI models, and the firm hopes that better access to charging facilities in the area will grant greater confidence for customers to make the shift towards adopting electrified mobility.
“Our collaboration with Millennium Welt is the perfect fit as we share the same goals for sustainability,” adds Carmen Loo, Group General Manager of Corporate Secretarial, Governance and Sustainability, regarding this latest joint effort between the firm and Millennium Welt.

Additionally, this effort is also part of BMW Group Malaysia’s strategy in developing the local EV charging infrastructure. To date, over 670 charging facilities have been made available by BMW Group Malaysia, and over 360 of which are accessible through partnerships with ChargEV and Yinson Greentech. Separately, partnerships with JomCharge and Gentari also grants access to over 65 and approximately 150 charging facilities, respectively.
Beyond that, Over 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities are also available at most authorised dealerships, as well as partnering venues across the country. More are set to come as part of the strategic infrastructure expansion planned by BMW Group Malaysia set for the year ahead.
