Revised 2024 Porsche Cayenne Officially Revealed

The radically overhauled 2024 Porsche Cayenne officially debuted at the 2023 Auto Shanghai show. With these latest revisions inside and out, the model is set to sustain its appeal whilst remaining on sale up to the end of the decade, and alongside an all-new and technically unrelated electric offshoot that’ will debut in 2025.
“This is one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of Porsche,” said said Cayenne product boss Michael Schätzle when describing this facelift. Certainly, it’s one that will keep Porsche's best-seller at the top of its segment whilst the marque embarks on a wide-reaching global electrification initiative.

Base-spec Cayenne now gets a larger and peppier 3.0-lite V6 twin-turbo heart.

L-R: Electrified PHEV Cayenne gets more EV range thanks to a bigger battery whilst new Cayenne GT variant offers a peppy 650 HP V8.
Amongst the key mechanical upgrades sees a swap from V6 to V8 power for the mid-tier Cayenne S. It now employs a twin-turbo 4.0-litre unit – similar to what powers the Panamera and Lamborghini Urus – that delivers increased output sof 468 HP and 600 NM to drive all four wheels, granting a 0-100 KM/H in just 4.8seconds and a top speed of 269 KM/H.
The base Cayenne, on the other hand, gets a new 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 powerplant replacing the outgoing model’s 2.9-litre unit, offering raised outputs of to 351 HP and 500 NM too. Said mill also forms the basis for a heavily upgraded plug-in hybrid (PHEV) drivetrain for the E-Hybrid variant, which delivers a combined 464 HP and supplemented by a larger 25.9kWh battery.
For said electrified variant of the Cayenne, the larger battery also sees its electric-only range bumped up to roughly 84 KM now. The battery can also be charged in just 2.5 hours thanks to a faster new on board charger that’s now rated at 11 kW. Additionally, two more PHEV variants will be added into the range later, and it will include a hotter Turbo S E-Hybrid variant that packs a V8.

Besides a bigger battery, the revised PHEV Cayenne can now accept quicker 11 kW charging inputs too.
As for the higher-trimmed Cayenne GT, this V8-engined offering sees its mill boasting 650 HP, thus granting it with a quicker 0-100 KM/H time of 3.2 seconds – slightly quicker than a base 911 GT3, in fact. However, this variant will to be offered in Europe due to tightening emissions regulation. Instead, a more driver-focused and similar V8-engined Cayenne GTS is set to take its place for Europe.
Significant revamps were performed to the Cayenne chassis as well, which increases its range between ride comfort and performance. Much of this stems from the new dual-valve shock absorbers working conjunction with a new dual-chamber air suspension system. This offers separate rebound and compression stage to bolsters agility through hard corners, enhanced low speed ride comfort, and mitigate pitch and roll.
Complementing said chassis upgrades are bigger-sized tyres with improved comfort with the added benefits of both filling the arches more effectively and being able to run at a lower pressure, thereby boosting grip.

The revised 2024 Porsche Cayenne interior shown previously that's inspired heavily by the Taycan.

New centre stack design elements plus a 12.6-inch curved driver's display are amongst the key changes.
Next comes the heightened focus on luxury and refinement, resulting in the Taycan-inspired interior revamp revealed prior. Aiming to provide an "even more intensive driving experience" while facilitating interaction, both with the car and the front passenger, the new dash features up to three screens: a 12.6-inch curved instrument display, a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, and an optional 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger.

Intelligent new matrix LED headlights are standard across the the 2024 Porsche Cayenne range.
With much of the critical changes done underneath, the exterior changes are relatively subtle and headlined by the reshaped front end that hosts new matrix LED headlights with more than 32,000 pixels per cluster. These, by the way, are standard across the range, and optionally upgradable to “HD” spec.
Also, these new lights can block out oncoming cars "with pixel accuracy" and avoid dazzling other drivers whilst maximising forward visibility. They also offer more than 1,000 variations of brightness to cater to different driving situations.
Other exterior changes include the re-sculpted bonnet and slightly widened fenders up front, whereas the rear it gets a fresh new LED lightbar plus reshaped apron and low-mounted number plate. Lastly, a bevy of new colours and wheel options, ranging from 20 to 22 inches, complete the Cayenne’s new look.
