Launched: Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe – From RM873,888

Also launched earlier today was the refreshed Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe super-SUV.

Besides the new second-gen Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic Coupe AMG Line, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) also introduced the refreshed fourth generation (V167) Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe super-SUV alongside it earlier today.

The revised front fascia is evident, as are the AMG-specific 22-inch forged wheels, restyled head- and taillights, and the addition of the AMG Night Package in high-gloss black finish.

Refreshed for the 2023 model year, the GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe lands sporting a revised exterior styling. Much of the changes can be seen up front, with the super-SUV sporting an almost-new front fascia, matched with restyled head- and taillights too.

What remains though is the unmistakably sporty coupe-like roofline and silhouette. Other notable exterior trains present include 22-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels finished in a new aluminium look, and the AMG Night Package trims finished in high-gloss black.

Upgraded 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl MHEV twin-scroll turbocharged heart now makes 435 HP and 560 NM, thus allowing 0-100 KM/H in just 5 seconds.

Aptly, the sporty styling and AMG badge gets matched with a peppy powertrain underneath that’s been upgraded too. The package consists of a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl twin-scroll turbocharged heart primed with a mild-hybrid (MHEV) system, with headlining output figures reading at 435 HP and 560 NM.

Paired with an AMG Speedshift 9-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive (AWD), 0-100 KM/H takes just 5 seconds whilst enroute towards an electronically capped V-max of 250 KM/H.

The performance heart is matched with a sorted chassis that brimmed with the AMG Active Ride Control+ suspension featuring adapting dampers.

Matching the super-speed is the promise of equally high amounts of agility thanks to the presence of the AMG Active Ride Control+ suspension with adaptive damping. Altogether, this package also promises a balanced combination of sportiness with a high level of everyday practicality.

A quick glance at the specifications list sees plenty of other highlights inside and out such as the exterior’s AMG Night Package, panoramic sliding sunroof, Multibeam LED headlights, and illuminated aluminium running boards primed.

On board, the GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe is richly decked out with a bevy of AMG-specific amenities and trims including carbon fibre decor.

As for the interior, it sees key additions such as the Interior Chrome Package AMG carbon-fibre trim, power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and memory function, ambient lighting, upgraded widescreen MBUX digital displays, as well as a head-up display and Burmester surround audio suite.

Typical of the three-point star, the GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe sees an equally well-sorted safety package led by the addition of the Mercedes-Benz Driving Assistance Package Plus. This laces the super-SUV with a bevy of active driver assist (ADAS) features to keep it equally as safe as it is sporty.
