Audi Q7 & SQ7 Refreshed Again – Light Exterior Nip-Tuck Plus Mild Interior Tweaks

The Audi Q7 and SQ7 duo were refreshed a second time for its latest 2024 model year guise featuring a mild exterior nip-tuck and light improvements all around.
Having refreshed the sportier coupe-bodied Q8 and SQ8 not too long ago, Audi has given the standard-bodied Q7 and SQ7 a round of refreshments for its latest 2024 model year guise. This the Q7 and SQ7 duo’s second facelift, and the latest tweaks were meant at enhancing on-road presence.
Visually, the most notable change are the new and now higher-positioned matric LED headlights lifted from the Q6 e-tron. These can be upgraded with lase diodes to displays new daytime running lights (DRLs) design, of which there are four schemes to choose from via the infotainment.
At the rear, the Q7 and SQ7 continue to boasts Audi’s signature OLED taillights with four selectable “light signatures” via the infotainment. Whilst on the subject of lights still, both also gain a new feature that flashes the hazard lights if it detects a fast-approaching car whilst stationary.

Up front, the Q7 and SQ7 now sport new and higher-mounted matrix LED headlights lifted from the Q6 e-tron. These also feature four selectable DRL designs that can be toggled via the infotainment.

Another prominent design tweak can be seen in the front grille, which now features bolder new teardrop-shaped (Q7) or L-shaped (SQ7) slats.

At the rear, both the Q7 and SQ7 continue to boast Audi's signature OLED taillights, which also features up to four selectable designs by via the infotainment.
Other visual changes to note include air intakes finished in the same colour as the rest of the exterior’s trims (Black, Black Plus Package, and gloss black), “dramatically reduced” decorative trim pieces, five new wheel designs ranging from 20- to 22-inch sizes, plus a prominent new grille design.
Said new grille design easily distinguishes the Q7 and SQ7 from lower-end Audi SUV models thanks to redesigned grille inserts that feature teardrop-shaped slats on base cars, followed by more distinct L-shaped pattern primed in higher-end guises.

On board, the cabins of the refreshed Q7 and SQ7 see revised displays and infotainments, the latter now bolstered with Spotify and Amazon Music. The Virtual Cockpit suite also gets lane-change warning system display integrated too.
On board, Audi have revised the infotainment displays for both the 2024 MY Q7 and SQ7 duo. They’re now upgraded to include Spotify and Amazon Music, whilst the Virtual Cockpit gets upgraded to include lane-change warning system display as well.
As standard, the cabin is dressed in contrasting grey leather, but there are three new trim piece finish options on hand now – gold, blue, and red. Apart from which, little else has changed visually in both the Q7 and SQ7, and it’s more or less the same news on the mechanical side of things.

Mechanically, there are no changes to report other than the inclusion of a torque-vectoring diff when buyers opt-in for the Advanced Suspension Package option.
The regular Q7 continues to harness Audi’s signature 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged petrol and diesel lumps, the former outputting 227 HP or 282 HP whilst the latter ups the ante up to 335 HP. The hotter SQ8, on the other hand, continues to offer up to 500 HP from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 lump.
Changes to the driveline are minimal, with Audi noting the addition of a torque-vectoring differential system when buyers opt-in for the optional Advanced Suspension Package. Aside from which, everything else appears business as usual, which isn’t a bad thing entirely.

Other minor changes include revised exterior trim piece finishes that also see "dramatic" reduction, followed by new alloy wheel designs.
Locally, Audi brand distributors PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) doesn’t officially offer the Q7 or SQ7. The firm has the sportier and much hotter RS Q8 on offer instead, which is priced from RM1.7 million onwards.
At the same time, PHSAM are also in the midst of preparing to introduce the Q7 and Q8’s Volkswagen Touareg twin sometime this year. Said VW-badged alternative is also set to be locally assembled (CKD), and the firm has begun taking registration of interest for it online.
