Third-Gen Porsche Panamera Gains New E-Hybrid PHEV Variants

New third-gen Porsche Panamera range grew slightly with the addition of the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid PHEV variants.
The new third-generation Porsche Panamera that debuted globally in Nov last year may have lost its long-roofed Sport Turismo variant, but at least it still retains an electrified edge. Earlier today, the German sportscar marque announced two new E-Hybrid additions to said model’s range.
Effectively, the new 2024 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid variants continue to see the renowned Stuttgart-based brand offer a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) twist to its signature four-door grand tourer.

Both new PHEV variants now sport uprated twin-turbo V6 hearts paired with an upgraded e-motor and larger battery, the latter also gaining an 11 kW OBC.
At the heart of both is a ‘significantly revamped’ 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo mill paired with ‘completely new’ and more powerful e-motor setup. The latter sees both share the same 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack primed and 11 kW on-board charger (OBC), the latter granting full recharges in about 2 hours and 29 minutes.
As a result, the base Panamera 4 E-Hybrid sees its total system output rated at 463 HP and 650 NM, whilst the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid stands peppier with 536 HP and 750 NM instead. As for full-electric (EV) ranges, this also has gone up to 93 KM and 90 KM respectively (WLTP, combined).
Performance figures aren’t too shabby either, evident through their claimed 0-100 KM/H sprint times of 4.1 seconds (E-Hybrid) and 3.7 seconds (S E-Hybrid). Also up are claimed V-max (top speed) figures, which reads at 280 KM/H and 290 KM/H respectively.
These, by the way, stand more ‘sedate’ compared to the manic V8-engined Turbo E-Hybrid variant revealed at launch that boasts up to 670 HP. However, a more potent ‘Turbo S E-Hybrid’ variant - a la new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid - is expected soon enough.

Both variants see improved on board kit too. Key amongst which is the inclusion of new dual-valve PASM active suspension.

Standard-equipped now too are soft-close doors, 14-way power-adjustable front seats, and more.
Back to these new and more ‘modest’ E-Hybrid PHEV variants, what’s also worth noting are the presence of Porsche’s active suspension management (PASM) tech, which now employs trick dual-valve dampers to keep the Panamera’s body level at all times.
Other key bits include 19-inch wheels plus black-painted brake calipers in the E-hybrid, larger 20-inch wheels plus tastier red-painted calipers in the S E-Hybrid, as well as silver exhaust tips and upgraded braking hardware with ten-piston calipers primed up front.
Notable options available include acid green brake caliper colour, 21-inch wheels, as well as upsized carbon ceramic brake rotors measuring up to 440 MM in diameter.
Lastly, the equipment list in both are fairly full as it includes amenities previously not featured in the previous models as standard kit. Highlights include soft-close doors, 14-way power-adjustable seats, steering wheel heating, and Lane Change Assist.
Following today’s announcement, the new Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid duo are now open for orders in Europe, with North America set to follow suit next month. It’s unclear if either PHEV variants will enter more markets – i.e. ours – worldwide just yet.
