Abolish Gombak, Karak Toll Plazas To Alleviate Traffic Woes - Kubang Kerian MP
The government has been urged by Kubang Kerian MP Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man to think about eliminating the Gombak and Karak Toll Plazas in order to reduce traffic, especially on the East Coast Highway.
The suggestion from the opposition MP drew attention to the nation's deteriorating traffic conditions, particularly in the vicinity of toll plazas.

He stated during royal address debate in the Dewan Rakyat, "The East Coast Highway, for example, has four toll plazas that force drivers to stop: Gombak, Bentong, Karak, and the exit plazas."
Tuan Ibrahim suggested two strategies to lessen the load on drivers; entry/exit system, a system that only requires drivers to pay tolls when they enter and leave the highway.

The other strategy is to eliminate toll plazas; because the Gombak and Karak toll plazas exacerbate traffic congestion and delays, they should be completely removed.
He also urged authorities to reconsider the timing of road repairs to reduce user inconvenience.
