During a State Planning Committee meeting recently, the Pahang State Government has endorsed the Electric Vehicle Charging Station Planning Guideline (GPPEVCB) for the state.
These guidelines aim to be a comprehensive guide for various stakeholders including the State Government, local authorities, building owners, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, developers, individuals and stakeholders. They are designed to enable safe and efficient development of EV charging stations.

Dato’ Sri Haji Wan Rosdy Bin Wan Ismail highlighted that since Dec 2023, Pahang had 55 operational charging stations across Kuantan, Bentong and Cameron Highlands. These station, strategically located in shopping centres, parking lots, hotels and resorts, will attract more tourists as well as EV owners into the area.
Moreover, according to Wan Rosdy, these rules would allow Town councils (PBT) of all districts in Pahang follow a standardised procedure when constructing EV stations. He also expressed his belief that this effort is likely to drive the industrial sector and charging infrastructure towards achieving 350 EVCBs by 2025 in Pahang.

Wan Rosdy also reiterated the government's Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (2021–2030) goal of building 10,000 public EV charging stations by 2025. This would also align with the National Energy Transition Roadmap 2023, which aims for 38% EV usage by 2040 and 80% by 2050.
