Facelifted GWM Haval H6 Unveiled in China – Coming to Malaysia Soon?
The facelifted GWM Haval H6 SUV has been revealed in China, featuring minor design tweaks and powertrain upgrades.
It appears that the yet-to-be-launched GWM Haval H6 is getting a facelift treatment back home in China. For its first mid-life update, GWM’s C-segment SUV fighter now comes with a refreshed look, plus some minor upgrades to its powertrain setup.
Starting with the visuals, the facelifted Haval H6 comes with a tweaked front face, featuring a new cascading grille design that also houses a larger Haval badge, both finished in a darker shade of chrome. Flanking its massive front grille is a pair of new LED headlights that now feature extended lighting elements that go down to its side air inlet, creating a ‘7’ shape for its DRL.
At the rear, the facelifted H6 drops its predecessor’s full-width LED taillight bar in favour of sleeker and sharper taillights. Also gone here is the chrome strip placed on its tailgate, with the updated model now only featuring the Haval lettering that sits between the new taillights.
Besides both the front and rear ends, nothing much has changed on the side part of the H6, with the facelifted model still riding on the same all-black 19-inch alloy wheels as its predecessor.
Besides the minor cosmetic change, the facelifted Haval H6 also benefited from some powertrain upgrades for both the full-ICE variants.
On the performance front, the facelifted Haval H6 retains its full-ICE powertrain duo. For the baseline 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged engine, this unit has been upgraded to now deliver 174 HP, a decent increase over the predecessor’s 169 HP-rated unit. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged unit has jumped from 209 HP to 228 HP in the facelifted model. Both of the engines are still mated to the same 7-speed DCT gearbox as the pre-updated model.
As of now, the facelifted GWM Haval H6 is only available in both the aforementioned full-ICE versions, with both the standard hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions set to arrive some time later. Additionally, GWM has yet to reveal any changes that took place inside the facelifted H6.
Similar to many Chinese cars we’ve covered in the past few weeks, the facelifted GWM Haval H6 is slated to make its full public appearance at the upcoming 2024 Beijing Auto Show (Auto China), which will take place later in April 24.
