Report: Aston Martin Mulling More Rugged SUV Model

`Aston Martin is reportedly mulling a new SUV with a tougher twist than its current DBX model.
Though it only has one SUV offering on hand, by which we mean the DBX, British supercar marque Aston Martin is reportedly mulling the idea of developing another, this time with a more rugged, tougher twist, a la the Lamborghini LM002 from the 1980s.
Said Lamborghini model’s inspiration couldn’t be more evident through the reported “Project Rambo” name given for said new model’s development.

Moreover, insiders at Aston Martin reportedly told Autocar UK that a more premium version of the LM002, positioned as a sister SUV to the DBX, would make a good substitute against the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender.
Furthermore, a limited run of just 2,500 units is being considered, thus guaranteeing the model’s exclusivity. Perhaps Aston Martin took a page from another Italian rival and its sole SUV offering - Ferrari and the Purosangue - for this approach.
Like the Purosangue, all units will combine supercar-like style and on-road performance, but will also come with exceptional all-terrain ability. At the heart of this special will be the same twin-turbocharged V8 powering the DBX 707, which offers 697 HP.
Recently updated 2025MY Aston Martin DBX, which now sees just one model available - DBX 707.
Fuelling this further is the fact that Aston Martin is still enjoying great sales successes with the DBX, which was recently revised with just one model. By using the DBX 707’s powertrain, this will enable lots of performance and little further development to tune it for the new body.
However, Aston Martin could also go down a different path altogether. The brand previously hinted that an upcoming redesigned version of its signature V12 mill, which promises 824 HP at least, will be used to power its future Vanquish GT, and its “most exclusive and limited availability models.”
It's worth noting Aston Martin is on of several automakers left still able to produce V12 engines. Said new rugged special SUV could use a V12 instead, which Aston has planned for the Vanquish.
Aston Martin is among the few remaining carmakers with a production V12 engine ready, while Rolls-Royce and Ferrari are the other two that equip their largest engines in their respective large SUVs. This also could help Aston Martin better differentiate this special off-roader from its DBX 707.
Due to the weak market for battery-powered vehicles, Aston has postponed its EV plans, therefore Project Lambo won't be electric. KR
