DC Handal Kempower Liquid-Cooled DCFC At WCE Taiping Now LIVE - RM1.50/kWh

Just recently, we discovered via Plugshare, DC Handal's latest DC Charging Hub on the West Coast Highway (WCE) near the Taiping Selatan Toll Plaza. A brief check of ChargEV's app revealed that this facility is already operational, despite no announcement made from DC Handal or WCE.
Anyway, this is welcome news, especially as it arrives just in time for the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration travel season, providing EV users heading up north with greater peace of mind when taking the WCE route.
This is the second DC Fast Charging (DCFC) station by this charge point operator (CPO) along WCE, following the Assam Jawa facility which was launched early last month.
The Taiping facility, like the Assam Jawa station, will be powered by Kempower DC units. However, things move a step forward as this location will house a 400 kW satellite-style Kempower setup.
Also unique to this facility is the use of the country's and possibly the region's fastest liquid-cooled charging nozzle (do correct us if we are wrong). Besides that, based on details on the ChargEV app and the Kempower unit, the arrangement at Taiping Selatan Toll Plaza will have a single 400 kW cabinet serving four (4) satellite chargers powering four (4) EV charging bays (EVCB) making it the highest capacity charger on the Malaysian highway network.
Three (3) of the four satellite chargers are capable of output a maximum of 200 kW each, while one (1) is liquid-cooled and capable of pushing out the maximum 400kW output this station can deliver based on your vehicle's maximum input rate.
However, as with other DC Handal Kempower installations, these chargers are dynamic, so the output will fluctuate depending on the number of vehicles charging and their state of charge (SOC) at any given time. From our observation, charging bays at this site is also wider which will be something EV users would definitely welcome.
To put things into perspective, an 800-volt architecture Lotus Eletre plugged into this liquid-cooled nozzle may attain a peak charging capacity of 350kW, resulting in the manufacturer's claimed 10-80% fast charging rate of 20 minutes.
We can also claim with certainty that Tenaga Nasional Berhad's (TNB) readiness at this site enabled this 400kW configuration. This could be because this is a new highway section, and power allocations were carefully planned from the outset to accommodate EV charging by TNB.
In terms of pricing, this location will charge the same rate as all other DC Handal stations, which is RM1.50/kWh. Accepted payment methods include debit and credit cards, MyDebit (NEW), Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and virtual payments through the JomCharge and ChargEV applications and is AutoCharge enabled.
