MAA Revs Up For KLIMS 2024, Announces ‘Beyond Mobility’ Show Theme
Apart from detailing and reviewing the current market, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) also shed more details for the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024, formerly Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show) that it will host later this year.
In their preview, both the association and show co-organisers qube (Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd) revealed more details regarding the show. Announced first was the show’s theme, which is titled “Beyond Mobility”.
According to the MAA, the new theme reflects the shift in consumer preferences towards electric and sustainable mobility solutions. There’s also a strong emphasis on sustainability, electrification and autonomous driving tech being driven by said new theme.
Additionally, this year’s edition of KLIMS will also be held in partnership with the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii). The organisation is said to be providing a showcase avenue for electrified vehicle makers, vendors, charging equipment suppliers and service providers, similar as how it does with its own annual show - the Malaysia Autoshow.
“We are excited to bring together industry leaders, global brands, and enthusiasts at KLIMS to shape the future of mobility and innovation. This year, we are proud to partner with MARii to elevate KLIMS 2024 and enhance the capabilities of all automotive stakeholders,” said MAA president Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain.
Amongst the key confirmed exhibitors include national marques Proton and Perodua, along with the usual leading Japanese brigade (Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi), leading auto group Bermaz (Mazda and Kia), as well as a slew of leading Chinese auto brands such as GWM, SAIC (MG), GAC Motor, and Jetour.
Next, the show’s venue and dates were also confirmed, those being MITEC, KL and from Dec 5 to Dec 11, respectively. Notable is the fact that the show’s final day on Dec 11 falls on a Public Holiday for Selangor state as well, and this should see it attract a lot of visitors too.
Announced alongside this too were the ticket price schemes and show times. Starting with the latter, it sees public days running from 10AM to 8PM on weekdays, and from 10AM to 10PM on weekends.
As for ticketing, single adult entry tickets are priced at RM20 for weekdays and RM25 for weekends. Youths ages 13 to 17 years old plus student card holders below 25 years old, on the other hand, see their tickets priced at just RM10 per person. Children ages 12 and below enjoy free entry.
