GWM Tank 300 Facelift Spied – Larger Screen & Steering-Mounted Shifter

Just as GWM Malaysia completes the first 100 deliveries of the GWM Tank 300 in Malaysia, CarNewsChina has published images of possible spy shots for the upcoming facelifted Tank 300.
The report also indicates that the upcoming facelift will focus primarily on interior updates. One of the key updates will be the shift from the current dual 12.3-inch screen dashboard design—both for the instrument cluster and infotainment display—to a significantly larger infotainment screen. This new screen, which extends above the dashboard line, aligns more closely with the design language seen in other models in the Tank series.

However, the overall layout of the centre console remains largely unchanged, except for the relocation of the gear selector, which has been moved to the steering column, similar to the design first seen in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Another major update will be the redesign steering wheel, now featuring a two-spoke flat-bottomed design with new control switches. The steering wheel now includes two scroll wheels, compared to the previous model's control pad with three switches on each side.

Looking at the exterior images, there seems to be a minimum amount of camouflage at the doors however visibly it seems to be no different to the ongoing Tank 300 model. In Malaysia, the Tank 300 is currently available only with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 217 HP (220 PS) and 380 NM, paired with a smooth, ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission.
It is expected that the facelifted model will be offered with a 2.0-liter PHEV option, featuring a front-mounted electric motor powered by a 37.1 kWh lithium battery capable of delivering a 105 KM all-electric WLTC range.
The facelifted Tank 300 is expected to be launched in China later this year. However, no details are available yet regarding whether the right-hand drive variants will receive similar updates.
