2025 Porsche 911 GT3 Refreshed With Sharper Look, Updated Engine And More Options

After updating and electrifying its staple base 992-gen 911 sportscar earlier this year, Stuttgart-rooted sportscar marque Porsche has unwrapped an updated GT3 and GT3 Touring variants of said signature sports coupe.

The refreshed 2025 model year iterations of the 992-gen GT3 and GT3 Touring duo arrives in a timely fashion – it coincides with the GT3 variant’s 25th anniversary. Both sport a series of mechanical tweaks that include revised cylinder heads, sharper cams from the manic GT3 RS, improved oil coolers, as well as a new throttle valves with enhanced flow.

Porsche has given the 2025 model year versions of its track-focused 911 GT3 and road-focused 911 GT3 Touring a series of mild updates inside and out.

Updated too are the exhaust systems in both trims, which now sport two particulate filters and four catalytic converters to meet current emissions rules. Despite so, Porsche says it has worked hard to ensure that these new additions do not dampen the 911 GT3’s signature “gripping soundscape” – one of the ke attractions for this variant.

Thankfully, the GT3’s signature 4.0-litre flat 6-cyl mill now produces 503 HP and 450 NM, and it still revs up to 9,000 RPM. It can still be paired with either Porsche’s signature 7-speed PDK automatic dual-clutch automatic box, or a 6-speed manual. Both were updated with an 8% shortened final drive ratios each, and still ensure 0-100 KM/H is attained in 3.4 secs and 3.9 secs respectively.

As for the chassis, the refreshed 911 GT3 rides on newly tuned dampers for enhanced control over bumper and kerbs, whilst its anti-dive system has been beefed up  to further reduce forward pitch under braking.

Good news for purists as the GT3 and GT3 Touring still see a 6-speed manual option available, albeit with an 8% shortened final drive ratio.

A newly added option for the road-focused GT3 Touring trim are a pair of back seats, which necessitates new carbon fibre front seats with a folding backrest fitted to grant easier access. Notably, two-seat Touring models can still be primed with Porsche’s plush 18-way adjustable sports seats as well.

As for the track-focused GT3, it gains subtly re-designed front and rear ends with new downforce-boosting aerodynamic elements. New up front too are the revised Porsche Matrix LED headlights, and below which in the bumper is an enlarged front air intake as well. Apart from which, the GT3 appears much the same as its pre-facelift form.

The 911 GT3 Touring gains several new options including a pair of back seats. This option also necessitates a pair of newly designed foldable front carbon fibre seats.

“On the track, the new 911 GT3 enables even better control because it holds even steadier and handles better on bumps and when driving over kerbs thanks to the optimised damper tuning,” says Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister.

“The new 911 GT3 has become even more exhilarating and individual. We dug into a wealth of details and gave it many features that our customers wanted. This allows the GT3 to be adapted even more specifically to the purpose or preferences of the driver,” adds Andreas Preuninger, Porsche’s Head of GT Cars.

As for availability, both the newly refreshed 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring see their order books open worldwide starting end of this year, according to the marque.
