Facelifted Mazda BT-50 Gains CX-5-inspired Front Face & Equipment Upgrades

The all-new 2025 Mazda BT-50 breaks cover with a new CX-5-inspired front face and tons of equipment upgrades.
It appears that the third-gen Mazda BT-50 will soldier on for another year or so, as Mazda recently gave its midsize pick-up truck a facelift treatment. And just like its donor model, the recently-facelifted Isuzu D-Max, the 2025 Mazda BT-50 also gains several new pieces of equipment, plus a more aggressive visual makeover.

Thanks to its new front grille and LED headlights, the facelifted BT-50 now looks more similar to the CX-5 SUV.
Starting with the latter, the facelifted BT-50 gains a more aggressive front face that features almost similar front grille and LED headlights design as the facelifted Mazda CX-5 SUV. Apart from that, Mazda also gives the updated BT-50 a new front bumper that features an air curtain that the automaker claims helps to improve the truck’s fuel consumption.

At the rear, the facelifted BT-50 gets a redesigned tailgate featuring a sizable Mazda emblem, which is joined by revised LED taillights and several gloss black-hued accents, including on its new alloy wheels. Speaking of hue, Mazda has also introduced several new striking colourways for the new BT-50, namely Geode White Pearl, Sailing Blue Metallic, and Red Earth Metallic.

The facelift treatment continues as we get inside the 2025 Mazda BT-50, with key new additions including the 9-inch infotainment screen that now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, multiple USB-C ports, and many more. Safety features have also been enhanced for the facelifted BT-50, which includes several new ADAS functions like Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), improved Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), to name a few.

Further increasing the life quality inside the new BT-50 are the presence of premium materials used on the door trims and dashboard, which are available in both brown and black hues. Those who fancy a more luxurious experience can opt for the Flagship variant, as it gets optional black and terracotta Maztex leather upholstery with synthetic suede lining and BT-50 embossing for the front seats.

Powertrain-wise, the facelifted BT-50 continues to be offered with the same powertrain options as its Isuzu-badged donor model. Buyers can choose between the baseline 1.9-litre 4-cl turbodiesel unit rated at 148 HP or the peppier 3.0-litre 4-cyl turbodiesel unit that delivers up to 187 HP. Regardless of engines, all BT-50 models are offered with either a six-speed automatic or manual transmissions, which facilitate power delivery to all four wheels (4WD) of the pick-up truck.
Deliveries for the all-new 2025 Mazda BT-50 facelift are slated to commence later in the first quarter of 2025, with the Australian market being in the forefront to receive this facelifted pick-up truck model. We can expect to learn more about the new BT-50’s pricing, specs, and availability in other international markets as we get closer to its delivery date.
