Lotus Emira Gains New Top-Spec Turbo SE Variant
The Lotus Emira gains a new top-spec Turbo SE variant, featuring a 400 HP-rated AMG inline-4 mill.
Fans of the Lotus car brand may have dismayed the company’s new direction with its high-performance premium EVs, but this renowned performance brand hasn’t completely ditched its old roots of lightweight and simplified sportscars. In a (possible) bid to win over the old fans, Lotus has recently updated the model line for the Lotus Emira, where its sole mid-engined sportscar now gains a new top-spec variant known as the Turbo SE.
This new top-spec variant continues to be powered by the same AMG-sourced 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged mill as before, which now benefits from a minor tune-up that boosts its total system output to 400 HP and 480 NM—that’s 40 HP and 50 NM more than the previous version. As a result, the Emira Turbo SE gets a quicker 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 4.0 seconds flat, as opposed to the First Edition’s 4.4 seconds.
Flat out, the new Emira Turbo SE can now reach its new limited V-Max of 290 KM/H—a 15 KM/H increase over the previous model.
2025 Lotus Emira V6
Unfortunately, Lotus has dropped the six-speed manual option from the top-spec Turbo SE variant, meaning that buyers can only get this range-topper with the 8-speed DCT unit. This also means that the only way you can get a new Emira with a stick-shift is by opting for the V6-powered variant.
Besides the peppier powertrain setup, the Emira Turbo SE also comes standard with the Lotus Drivers’ Pack, which adds performance bits and pieces such as the stiffer Sport suspension setup, cross-drilled and ventilated brake rotors, as well as launch control.
On the visual front, the Emira Turbo SE features some minor design changes to help differentiate it from the previous version. Key highlights include the new 20-inch V-spoke forged wheels hued in Satin Grey, red-hued brake callipers, darkened Lotus emblems and exhaust tips, as well as the Turbo SE emblem on its tailgate.
The all-new 2025 Lotus Emira Turbo SE will be made available in selected markets in regions like the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. As of writing, Lotus Cars Malaysia still offers the Emira in its previous First Edition versions, with prices starting from RM1.095 million for the inline-4 model, RM1.289 million for the V6 manual, and RM1.309 million for the V6 auto.
