The Bukit Aman JSPT arm of PDRM is conducting its latest 'Op Lancar' traffic operations during the Christmas and New Year festive holidays.
The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) arm of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) launched its latest festive season traffic operations this week. Dubbed ‘Op Lancar’, this effort is set to run through the Christmas and New Year festivities until Jan 2, 2025.
JSPT director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri emphasised that this latest enforcement operation is aimed at addressing increased traffic during this festive and year-end school holidays period. A key target of Op Lancar is to reduce congestion through traffic dispersal measures on major routes while also ensuring the safety of road users.
“JSPT is aware of increased traffic volume and congestion on the North-South Expressway (PLUS), the East Coast Expressway (LPT), and other highways, as well as on federal and state roads,” said Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri further.

Official statement issued by Bukit Aman JSPT ahead of Op Lancar, which runs until Jan 2, 2025.

This latest operation is aimed at reducing congestion through traffic dispersal measures and ensure the safety of all road users.
Adding to this was the statement and TTA issued by highway concessionaires PLUS earlier this month where it anticipated no less than 2.12 million vehicles would be using major expressways daily during this Christmas and New Year holidays.
In light of which, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri also urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, observe speed limits, refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or substances, and comply with traffic signals.

Expect to see traffic officers on duty throughout Op Lancar at all major highways, as well as on both federal and state roads.
He also stressed the importance for motorists to carefully plan their journeys beforehand and by staying informed about weather conditions plus traffic flow before setting off. Speaking of the weather, the Malaysia Meteorological Dept (MetMalaysia) also recently issued heavy thunderstorm warnings that’s set to hit most states on Christmas day itself too.
Lastly, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri also reminded motorists to remain disciplined and exercise prudence while driving. “For information of traffic congestion, the public can contact operations rooms at the district and contingent level,” he added before concluding his statement.
