Zeekr 7X Confirmed for 2025 Debut – Midsize EV SUV with Over 700 KM of Range

Zeekr Malaysia (Sentinel Automotive) has confirmed plans to bring the Zeekr 7X into our Malaysian market sometime in 2025.
Following its official market entry with both the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 yesterday, Zeekr Malaysia (Sentinel Automotive) has confirmed plans to bring yet another all-electric vehicle into our market, namely the Zeekr 7X. This midsize all-electric crossover initially made its Chinese debut earlier in Sept this year, where it uses the same PMA2+ platform with an 800-volt architecture as the Zeekr 007 EV saloon.

As the brand’s first midsize SUV, the 7X is essentially Zeekr’s bid to go against the likes of models like the Xpeng G6, BYD Sealion 07, and the ever-popular Tesla Model Y. Dimension-wise, the 7X is roughly the same size as the aforementioned midsize EV SUVs, measuring 4,825 MM long, 1,930 MM wide, 1,666 MM tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,925 MM.

Despite its large footprint, the Zeekr 7X comes strictly in a two-row form, granting the SUV with tons of cabin and cargo space. Inside, passengers can find a slew of tech and luxury amenities such as the large 16-inch infotainment screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, a 13-inch digital instrument cluster, powered front seats with heated, ventilated, and massage functions, a three-zone climate control, power-adjustable rear seats with a built-in ottoman, dedicated rear passenger screens with powered tray tables, built-in refrigerators, a 21-speaker audio system, and many more.

On the powertrain front, the Chinese-spec Zeekr 7X comes with two options, namely the baseline RWD model rated at 416 HP (310 kW) and 440 NM, allowing the midsize SUV to accelerate from 0-100 KM/H in 5.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the top-spec AWD model gets a peppier dual-motor AWD setup that delivers a whopping 637 HP (475 kW) and 710 NM, granting it a rapid century sprint finish of only 3.8 seconds.
Battery-wise, the RWD model is equipped with either a smaller 75-kWh LFP ‘Golden Brick’ battery pack that grants it up to 605 KM of CLTC range, as well as a larger 100-kWh CATL-Geely Qilin NMC unit that boosts its maximum range to 780 KM, at least according to the lenient CLTC cycle. The AWD model, on the other hand, only comes with the larger CATL unit that provides a maximum range of 705 KM (CLTC).
Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the Zeekr 7X is one of the fastest-charging EVs in the world, with Zeekr claiming a 10-80% charge can be completed in just 10.5 minutes, at least for the variant that uses Geely’s proprietary ‘Golden Brick’ battery. The 100-kWh NMC pack, on the other hand, gets a slightly slower charging performance where a 10-80% charge is completed in 15 minutes instead.

Given that the current crop of Chinese midsize EV SUV retails from RM160,000 to RM200,000, perhaps it’d be wise to assume that the Zeekr 7X will be retailed roughly around the same region. However, it is important to note that the 7X is noticeably more premium and luxurious than its aforementioned rivals, so expect a slightly heftier price for this stylish EV SUV.
