The new Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (left) and GTS (right) debut as the top-two variants for the third-gen model.

The third-gen Porsche Panamera lineup has been expanded further globally, as Porsche welcomes the top-two variants today, namely the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Panamera GTS.

The new Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is powered by the same V8 PHEV setup used on both the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid and the new Bentley Continental GT Speed.

Starting with the former, the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is dubbed the most powerful Panamera ever made by House Stuttgart, thanks to its new V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that is derived from the top-spec Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. This new power plant unit comprises a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol mill rated at 591 HP, which is then paired to a single, 187 HP-rated electric motor.

This setup is augmented by an improved 8-speed PDK automatic gearbox to deliver a combined system output of 771 HP and 999 NM, surpassing its predecessor by 81 HP and 130 NM to make it the most potent Panamera ever made by Porsche. Surprisingly, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid’s total system output is higher than its SUV twin and is identical to its two-door luxury cousin, the new Bentley Continental GT Speed.

The new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is officially the most potent Panamera ever made by Porsche, so far...

This healthy power boost enables the new Panamera turbo hybrid to accelerate from 0–60 MPH (96 KM/H) in just 2.8 seconds, and achieve an improved top speed of 325 KM/H.

Similar to its non-Turbo S hybrid twin, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is juiced by a sizable 25.9-kWh battery pack. Unfortunately, Porsche has yet to disclose the all-electric range and charging capabilities of this unit, but we can expect it to be less than the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid’s EV-only range of 93 KM, considering its peppier powertrain output.

Spotted doing a Nurburgring run earlier this week, the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid boasts similar design features as the Turbo E-Hybrid model, with the sole exception being its Turbo S badge at the tailgate. This souped-up Panamera features the same Turbo-specific body kit and 21-inch centre lock forged wheels as its Turbo twin.

Speaking of Nurburgring, this new Panamera has also broken the record for the fastest executive saloon to lap the infamous ‘Green Hell’, with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2-equipped unit clocking in at just 7:24.17. Also helping the V8 PHEV saloon achieve this feat are the Porsche Active Ride suspension setup it rides on, rear-axle steering, and a fancier Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) system.

The new Porsche Panamera GTS is the most potent non-electrified third-gen Panamera you can get.

Besides the Turbo S E-Hybrid, Porsche has also unveiled the new GTS variant for the third-gen Panamera. Touted as the top-spec variant for the non-electrified Panamera models, the new Panamera GTS gets the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the Turbo S E-Hybrid, but with no electrification support to deliver 493 HP, making it 20 HP more powerful than the previous GTS model.

This slight improvement allows the new Panamera GTS to accelerate from 0–60 MPH (96 KM/H) in 3.6 seconds, en route to its improved V-Max of 303 KM/H. Also special for the new GTS model is the sport exhaust system that now comes standard, allowing the twin-turbo V8 to sing louder and sprightlier than before.

Apart from the improved V8 engine, the new Panamera GTS also benefits from some minor mechanical improvements, with the most notable one being its chassis setup. Promises to focus more on “driver engagement and agility,"  the new GTS model gets a sportier calibration for its standard air suspension system, along with reinforced anti-roll bars and the newly-equipped PTV Plus limited-slip differential.

Visually, the Panamera GTS differentiates itself from other third-gen Panamera variants by the Sport Package that it comes standard with, plus some darker lighting units. The GTS also borrows the 21-inch centre lock wheels from the Turbo S E-Hybrid model, while the quad-piped sport exhausts are finished in Dark Bronze, and the GTS badge on the tailgate completes the GTS makeover.

Both the new, third-gen Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Panamera GTS are now open for booking in selected international markets, with their deliveries set to commence later in Q1 2025. In the US, the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is priced at $226,500 (RM1.059 million), while the Panamera GTS is tagged lower at $154,200 (RM721,116) – both prices excluding tax, registration, and other extra fees.
