RWB Collective Officially Debuts, Jazeman Jaafar Named Brand Ambassador

The RWB brand movement in Malaysia underwent a 'renaissance' recently with the formation of 'RWB Collective'.

RWB (Rauh-Welt Begriff), the famed Japan-rooted brand of tuned and modified, wide-bodied, classic and modern Porsche sportscars created by builder with cult-like following Akira Nakai, sees its movement and community here in Malaysia undergo a bit of a renaissance recently.

Marking its official debut last weekend was ‘RWB Collective’. Touting itself as a “dynamic consortium formed under a trust”, it is dedicated towards bringing together a unique community of RWB car owners and enthusiasts in Malaysia.

A special showcase was held last weekend where RWB Collective officially debuted itself. At the same time, the collective also announced its newly appointed brand ambassador Jazeman Jaafar.

Managed by Persona Energy Sdn Bhd, “the collective” seeks to promote motorsports culture and deliver unforgettable experiences for Malaysian RWB owners and fans alike. This was evident by the special four-car showcase the collective held last weekend in Tanamekar The Hills, PJ.

Said occasion doubled as the stage for the collective to present its newly appointed brand ambassador Jazeman Jaafar. During which, the renowned 32-year-old local racecar driver also unravelled the collective’s recent addition – a 993-based build christened as Yamato Nadeshiko RWB.

Jazeman shared that RWB Collective seeks to bring together passionate Malaysian RWB owners and fans together through a series of special meets and gatherings.  

“I am deeply honoured and excited to be a part of this incredible journey. My vision is to build an inclusive and thriving community of RWB enthusiasts, united by our shared love for the brand,” said Jazeman during this special showcase.

Besides the exquisite cars themselves, a selection of RWB memorabilia and art pieces were also displayed at this showcase. Jazeman, who is also Executive Director of Persona Energy Sdn Bhd, even detailed some of the collective’s plans too.

Local RWB builds as seen during TAS KL 2024. According to Jazeman and RWB Collective, a total of 14 builds have been commissioned in Malaysia to date.

To date, a total of 14 RWB builds have been commissioned in Malaysia, much of which are in the hands of passionate private owners who commissioned their builds. Of said 14, six are presently in the hands and care of RWB Collective.

Together, Jazeman and the collective intend to host community gatherings and meets – a staple activity of the RWB brand and its owners worldwide – using the latter’s cars and memorabilia collection at the centre for which.

Concurrently, the collective also welcomes existing RWB owners to participate in these gatherings, not forgetting the equally passionate fans too.

Presently, RWB Collective has six builds in their care, and four of which were showcased last weekend.

The first of these meets will be held this year at the upcoming Malaysia Diecast Expo (MDX) at MITEC, KL in May. A second follows which, and will be held as part of the much-anticipated Super GT Malaysia race weekend at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (SIC) in June.

 “Gatherings and meets aside, we are also actively seeking other means and collaborations to bring the RWB brand closer to local fans,” added Jazeman when we spoke privately with him during the showcase held last weekend.

Besides the cars, a selection of memorabilia and art pieces were also displayed during last weekend's showcase.

The former Formula 1 hopeful didn’t go into specifics, but hinted that the collective’s aim of providing “greater access for fans” includes the creation of lifestyle merchandise and more. Jazeman also confirmed that the collective seeks to establish a permanent home, and details for which will be announced soon.
