BIMS 2025: GWM Haval H6 Facelift Bows, PHEV Boasts 150KM EV Range
Remember the facelifted 2024 Haval H6 HEV in China that we featured early last year? Well, Thailand has become the first market in this region to receive it, as announced at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show 2025 (BIMS 2025).
Technically, it’s not a full facelift like in China — only the front half gets an update, while the rear retains the previous design.
For the Thai market, three variants are available. The H6 HEV Pro is priced at THB929,000 (RM122,000), the H6 PHEV Pro at THB1,049,000 (RM137,000), and the top-spec H6 PHEV Ultra is tagged at THB1.149 million (RM150,000).
By comparison, Malaysia only sees one variant marketed - the H6 HEV CKD priced at RM139,800.
The facelifted H6 gets a new smoked chrome front grille and bumper, along with black-smoked LED headlights featuring the "Waterfall Signature" lighting system. The door trim, tailgate trim, side window surrounds, and roof rails now come in piano black, while the rear LED light strip also receives the smoked treatment.
All variants ride on 19-inch black-smoked alloy wheels with a sporty design. The top-tier PHEV Ultra variant stands out with red brake calipers.
Inside, the cabin now features a black and silver trim theme. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and HUD remain unchanged, but the infotainment screen has been upgraded from 12.3 inches to 14.6 inches. It now runs the latest GWM Coffee OS 3.0, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset.
For Thailand, GWM has opted for the Huawei Petal Map navigation system. The H6 also gets a new D-shaped steering wheel and a column-mounted electronic shifter. An Amor luxury hi-fi system provides premium sound, while a 50-watt wireless phone charger adds convenience.
Under the hood, all variants retain the same 1.5-liter turbocharged engine from the pre-facelift model. The HEV variant produces 243 HP and 530 NM. The PHEV models generate 326 HP and 530 NM, and a 27.54 kWh battery yielding a 150 KM all-electric range. Charging is supported via a CCS Type 2 connector with 41 kW DC fast charging capability.
The face-lifted H6 boasts over 31 intelligent safety features, including a 540-degree high-resolution camera with both around-view and under-car perspectives. Other highlights include Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Lane Centering Assist (LCK).
Despite its arrival in Thailand, this facelifted H6 won’t be coming to Malaysia anytime soon. The current H6 has only been on sale for six months, making a refresh unnecessary at this stage. With just under 2,000 units sold locally, any update would likely happen in 2026.
When the time comes, let’s hope Malaysia gets the full facelift seen in China rather than the half-baked front-only update as we see introduced in Thailand.
