Rapid KL Expanding On-Demand Service To 7 Additional Zones

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd is set to launch seven additional operational zones for the Rapid KL On-Demand service this Thursday, March 27, in response to a surge in passenger demand. Consequently, the service will expand its fleet to 93 vehicles across 33 zones within the Klang Valley.
Notably, a record daily ridership of 4,732 individuals was achieved on March 18, following the service's expansion to 17 new zones on February 1.
Rapid Bus said in a statement yesterday (March 26) that additional service zones have been established. These zones, each served by a complement of four vans, encompass Kampung Ampang Indah to Taman Sri Watan, Ampang Hilir to Kampung Datuk Keramat, and the area between LRT Ampang and Ampang Jaya.
Furthermore, two vans will be allocated to serve the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), the route between MRT Putrajaya Sentral and Cybersouth Dengkil, the service between MRT Putrajaya Sentral and Precincts 14 and 16, and the commute from Desa Pinggiran Putra to Desa Gemilang Putrajaya.

The operational zones, which integrate with train services and the Jalan Ampang bus lane, utilise the Trek Rides application. “Previously, only the Jalan Genting Kelang and Jalan Klang Lama bus lanes had access to this service. Now all bus lane users can enjoy and continue their journey with Rapid KL On-Demand,” it said.
Users in Putrajaya can use the KUMMUTE app to find alternative routes that connect them to places without public transit. To improve services, an additional van will be deployed in the seven zones that were introduced on March 10: Taman Melati - Gombak Setia, Bukit Antarabangsa - Setiawangsa, Bangi - UNITEN, Wangsa Maju - Sri Rampai, Titiwangsa - Chow Kit, Bandar Kinrara - Jalan Puchong, and Taman OUG - Kuchai Lama.

Riders can book through the Mobi, Trek Rides, or KUMMUTE apps, depending on the zone. Payment methods include the Touch 'n Go Card, MyRapid Concession Card, OKU Smile Travel Pass, and Unlimited Travel Pass (My50, MyCity & Family Pass).
