MG Teases New Cyber X SUV Ahead of Auto Shanghai Debut

The all-new MG Cyber X will be the second model under the ‘Cyber’ lineup, set to debut at the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show.
As we get closer to the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show, many automakers have started to tease their latest products that will debut at the upcoming motor show. Joining the tease bandwagon is Sino-British marque MG Motor, as it publishes several teaser images of its new SUV model, the MG Cyber X.
Published via its official Weibo page, MG describes the new Cyber X as an all-new “boxy” SUV, featuring some “groundbreaking innovation” in MG’s history. From the teaser images, we can see that the Cyber X gets a pretty boxy SUV design in a sleek, modern form instead of a rough and rugged off-roader.

While not many details can be derived from these photos, we still can see that the Cyber X will sport slim LED headlights and taillights, flushed door handles, a grill-less front face, and many more.

The MG Cyberster made its Malaysian debut at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) late last year.
Given its sleek and grill-less appearance, rumours have suggested that the new Cyber X will sport an all-electric powertrain setup. Not to forget, the only other model currently under MG’s Cyber lineup is the Cyberster, so it is not wild to think of the Cyber X as the boxy, rugged version of the roadster.
Then again, no solid details were shared by MG for now, but CarNewsChina reports that this sleek SUV might adopt the new E3 platform by MG’s parent company, SAIC Motor. Developed with modularity in mind, the new E3 platform can be used in various types of vehicles while being capable of supporting solid-state batteries.
Said news outlet also reported that the Cyber X will get smart mobile connectivity via its partnership with Chinese phone maker Oppo, while advanced AI and autonomous driving capabilities are provided by Horizon Robotics’ J6 high-performance chip.

Once it debuts later this month, the new MG Cyber X will be part of MG’s aggressive two-year product roadmap, where the Sino-British marque plans to launch no less than eight new models, ranging from sedans and SUVs to even sportscars. As always, we can expect to learn more details about the Cyber X as we get closer to its Auto Shanghai debut.
