Zeekr 009 Grand Gains Collector’s Edition Special Featuring Real Gold Trims

The Zeekr 009 Grand Collector's Edition recently entered the Chinese market, bringing with it a slew of added opulence and decadence over the regular 009 Grand.
Entering the Chinese market recently, the new Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition pictured certainly solidifies this Geely-owned EV brand offering’s status as “the most luxurious MPV made in China.”
In this special’s case, it doesn’t just stem from its imposing MPV design, and exclusive four-seat layout complete with a massive TV in the passenger half. In fact, each Collector’s Edition unit reportedly has up to three grams of genuine 24-carat (24K) gold added into it too.

Roughly three grams of 24-carat (24K) gold is added into each unit specifically for the self-righting wheel centres that are all plated in it.
Specifically, said precious metal is used for this special edition’s self-righting wheel centres, which are all plated from genuine 24-carat gold. These then get matched with hand-painted double pinstripes on the shoulder line, bumpers, side skirt and cant rail trim, and C-pillar inlay.
Notable too is the rolling stock adopted by the Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition. Besides the hand-painted pinstripe, each 20-inch forged wheel is hand-polished and given a physical vapour deposition (PVD) treatment to gain a dark chrome finish.

Inside, chrome trims are traded away for gold ones, and they're matched with gold-hued seatbelts. Notably, the second-row seats also feature heating, ventilation and massage functions.

As if the business class-style 24-way adjustable second row seats weren't decadent enough, Zeekr even added wool carpets made using hairs from Andean alpacas.
Inside, the cabin trades chrome trims for gold ones instead, matched with gold-hued seatbelts. The massive TV mentioned measures 43 inches and bears the Zeekr monogram on either side, and there are decadent wool carpets made using hairs from Andean alpacas present too.
The rest of this Zeekr 009’s cabin mirrors the ‘regular’ yet uber-luxe 009 Grand it underpins. One key highlight here are the business class-style 24-way power-adjustable second row seats with built-in heating, ventilation and massage functions and aniline leather upholstery.

Everything else on board seems to mirror closely to what's already seen in the regular Zeekr 009 Grand variant that this special underpins.
Other notable features here include an 8-inch rear tablet, leather-trimmed fold-out table, crystal switchgear, electrochromic rear side windows, an 18-litre hot and cold fridge, as well as a top-end 31-speaker 3,000-watt Yamaha audio suite with headrest speakers, amongst many.
Mechanically, the Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition detailed is also unchanged from the regular Zeekr 009 Grand model it underpins. It continues to sees a dual e-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup primed, delivering 789 PS and 810 NM to enable 0-100 KM/H sprints in 3.9 secs.

Peppy dual-motor, AWD setup primed underneath is juiced by a 108 kWh battery pack promising up to 702 KM of CLTC range. Expect a real world range figure closer tot he 500 KM mark instead.
Rapid performance aside, both comfort and handling dynamics are kept in check thanks to the chassis’ adoptions a dual-chamber adaptive air suspension system. As for range, the 108 kWh battery pack equipped in this special boasts a CLTC-rated maximum of 702 KM.
For reference, the lesser equipped but still relatively posh Zeekr 009 marketed in Malaysia, which packs a larger 116 kWh battery pack, boasts a more realistic WLTP-rated range figure of 582 KM. Expect the special variant featured to yield a real world range figure closer to the 500 KM mark instead.

At RMB899,000, it's safe to say that the Zeekr 009 Grand Collector's Edition is indeed not a bargain - it costs an additional RM110,000 over the regular Zeekr 009 Grand, in fact.
Naturally, all these added decadence and extravagance comes at a price, and it’s no bargain to say the least at a reported RMB899,000 (approx. RM539,962) – RMB110,000 (approx. RM66,069) more than the regular but arguably opulent Zeekr 009 Grand variant.
For perspective, the priciest version of the regular Zeekr 009 presently marketed locally in Malaysia, boasting a six-seat layout, retails with a ceiling price tag of RM539,800.
