992.2 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Debuts – More Power, 8-Speed PDK Only

The 992.2-gen Porsche 911 Carrera 4S breaks cover with more power and no stick-shift manual option.
Porsche continues to expand the new 992.2-gen 911 lineup by unveiling the all-new Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. This all-wheel-drive variant of the 911 now gains more power over its predecessor, coming in Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa bodystyles.

Positioned between the Carrera S and the more potent GTS, the new Carrera 4S adopts the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine from the S, which has been revised to produce 473 hp and 529 Nm, making it 30 hp more powerful than the pre-facelift 4S.
And as its name suggests, the power produced from the flat-six is delivered to all wheels (AWD) via Porsche’s rear-biased Traction Management (PTM) system and an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Unfortunately for enthusiasts, the new Carrera 4S is no longer offered with a stick-shift manual option.

Besides the power boost, Porsche has now equipped the new 4S with a Sport Exhaust system and beefier brakes borrowed from the 911 GTS. Also coming standard on the new 4S is the revised damper setup, which promises to improve responsiveness while keeping the ride composed.
In case the standard Carrera 4S is a tad bit too vanilla for you, there are several optional performance upgrades to choose from. This includes the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sport suspension, rear axle steering (standard for the 4S Targa), and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes.
With the Sport Chrono Package equipped, the new Carrera 4S can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds before reaching its electronically limited V-max at up to 307 km/h.

On the design front, the new Carrera 4S gets the same design tweaks as its other 992.2-gen siblings, including the redesigned bumpers, standard LED matrix headlights, a redesigned front grille, and many more.

Inside, buyers will find a choice between a 2-seater layout or a 2+2 setup for the 4S Coupe at no extra cost, although both the Cabriolet and Targa only feature the latter setup. Other cabin amenities like the infotainment screen are all derived from other 992.2 variants, while the extended leather trim now comes standard across the board.

Order books for the all-new 992.2-gen Porsche 911 Carrera 4S are already open in key markets like Europe and the US, with first deliveries expected to take place later in Q4 this year. Prices in the UK start at £127,000 (RM732,733) for the 4S Coupe, £137,000 (RM790,429) for the 4S Cabriolet, and £137,600 (RM793,891) for the 4S Targa.
