CROSSing Over: Chery Tiggo Cross Garners 1,000 Bookings

Chery Malaysia has hit a major milestone with the all-new Tiggo Cross - the automaker’s new B-SUV fighter launched earlier this week.
Shortly after its launch, the firm has announced that over 1,000 bookings have been placed for the Tiggo Cross. The strong early demand signals not only local enthusiasm for the brand’s latest metal, but also its growing presence in this fiercely competitive segment.

Prior to this, registration of interest (ROI) for the Tiggo Cross began back in May during the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025). At which point, Chery had pledged to deliver the first 500 units by Aug. With bookings momentum building, that target has already been comfortably surpassed.
Offered in two variants, the 1.5 Turbo and 1.5 Hybrid CSH, the Tiggo Cross is attractively priced from RM88,800 and RM99,800 respectively. Both are locally assembled (CKD) at Inokom in Kulim, Kedah, boosting their overall value proposition.

Beyond competitive pricing, there’s a generous warranty and aftersales package included. The hybrid variant, in particular, gets a separate 8-year or 160,000 KM warranty for its electrified components, in addition to the standard 7-year or 150,000 KM vehicle warranty and 7-year unlimited towing service.
To sweeten the deal, Chery is also rewarding the first 2,000 bookings made by Sept 30 with a 2-year all-inclusive free service package.

Regarding powertrain, the 1.5 Turbo delivers 145HP and 210 NM via a six-speed DCT, while the hybrid pairs a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine with a powerful e-motor and compact battery pack to deliver a combined 201HP and up to 1,000 KM of driving range.
Inside, the Tiggo Cross checks all the right boxes. Highlights sees twin 20.5-inch displays with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16 advanced driver assistance (ADAS) features, a powered driver seat, ambient lighting, and dual-zone climate control with rear vents.

Dimensionally, it competes directly with the Proton X50, standing out with sharp LED lighting, a diamond-pattern grille, and alloy wheels up to 18 inches in size.
While Chery has not disclosed the booking split between the turbo and hybrid variants, it’s likely that the hybrid is driving the bulk of demand as its positioned as the most affordable B-segment hybrid SUV in the country. In fact, it undercuts the HR-V e:HEV by RM42,100 while offering more power and greater range.
With interest still growing and bookings continuing to climb, Chery Malaysia looks set to establish a genuine volume player with the Tiggo Cross. For now, the early numbers say Malaysians are eager to CROSS over - yes, all puns intended.
