Meta Bright, ChargeSini JV to Fast-Track EV Charger Rollout
![]()
Meta Bright Group Berhad has entered into a joint venture with ChargeHere EV Solution Sdn Bhd, marking a significant move into Malaysia’s fast-growing EV charging sector.
Formed through Meta Bright’s wholly owned subsidiary, Meta Bright Energy Sdn Bhd, the partnership will establish a new entity called Meta Bright Chargesini Sdn Bhd. Meta Bright will hold a 51% stake, while ChargeHere retains the remaining 49%.

ChargeHere, known for its ChargeSini brand, operates the country’s largest EV charging network. It currently manages 935 charging points across more than 400 locations, with 734 of them fully operational and approved by the Energy Commission (ST). These chargers are strategically deployed at shopping malls, hotels, and residential condominiums, supporting over 32,000 active users.
The joint venture directly supports the government’s target of installing 10,000 EV charging stations by 2025 under the National Energy Transition Roadmap. Several priority sites have already been identified in Johor, Penang, and Selangor, with further plans underway in Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, and Melaka.

For Meta Bright, the move marks a strategic expansion of its energy portfolio and reinforces its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments. By tapping into ChargeHere’s technical expertise, operational strengths, and existing footprint, the group aims to fast-track its entry into the EV infrastructure space.
Beyond infrastructure, the collaboration is set to unlock wider market opportunities. Shared technology development, enhanced accessibility, and a scalable charging network are all part of the long-term vision.

Derek Phang, Executive Director of Corporate and Strategic Planning at Meta Bright, called the partnership a key milestone in the group’s renewable energy ambitions. He noted that the planned rollout would significantly increase Meta Bright’s presence in key urban corridors, helping meet the rising demand for reliable and accessible EV charging solutions.
