New Streamlined Rapid On-Demand App Announced
Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of Rapid KL’s On-Demand van services, will streamline its booking system and expand service zones starting Nov 2025.
Acting CEO Ku Jamil Zakaria said three existing booking platforms, Mobi, Trek Rides and Kummute will be merged into a single integrated application called Rapid On-Demand to simplify the booking process and enhance user experience.
He said the consolidation will be carried out in two phases, beginning with zones currently using the Mobi and Trek Rides apps on Nov 1, followed by those on the Kummute app in mid-Nov. With the new system, users will only need one app to make bookings across all Rapid KL On-Demand zones, making travel easier, faster and more consistent.
Ku Jamil added that the company will also expand and combine several service zones in stages to improve accessibility and connectivity.
The move, which involves 50 vans, will link key areas such as Metro Prima–Taman Botani Kepong (FRIM), Serdang Raya Selatan–Taman Bukit Serdang, Semantan–Menara DBKL and Semantan–KTM Segambut.
He said the integration aims to allow users to travel to more destinations without having to switch services, offering a smoother and more user-friendly public transport experience. The ongoing RM1 fare promotion will also continue for all users.
The Rapid On-Demand app will be available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and existing users are encouraged to switch to the new app before Nov 1 to ensure uninterrupted service.
More information on coverage zones and usage guidelines can be found at www.myrapid.com.my or through Rapid KL’s official social media platforms.
