Toyota Camry GT-S Concept Unveiled Ahead of SEMA 2025 Debut

Toyota USA has transformed the new Camry into a sporty, race-inspired concept for this year’s SEMA Show.
While most Japanese automakers are busy gearing up for the upcoming Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2025, Toyota has just unveiled a special concept model in the US. Say hello to the sporty Toyota Camry GT-S Concept, which is set to highlight Toyota’s showcase at the upcoming 2025 SEMA Show.
Created by Toyota’s CALTY Design Research studio in California, the Camry GT-S concept is described as “the high-performance hero of the Camry lineup,” featuring a sporty, race-inspired bodykit and some chassis tweaks to go with it.

Said custom bodykit features a sharper front splitter with matching side skirts and a rear bumper extension. If that’s not enough, the GT-S concept also sports a ducktail-style rear spoiler and new 20-inch wheels, while finished in a two-tone Inferno Flare orange hue with contrasting black accents across the hood, roof, wheels, and other exterior parts.
While no interior photos were published, we’ve been told that this sporty concept sedan does get some minor mechanical tweaks, which come in the form of adjustable coilovers that lower the car by 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) and a sportier tuning for its chassis. To go with the tweaked chassis, the brake system has also been upgraded, featuring larger 8-piston callipers for the front and 6-piston for the rear—both with larger 365-mm rotors.

That said, the sporty Camry GT-S concept still draws its power from the same 2.5-litre 4-cyl hybrid powertrain setup found on its standard twin, rated at 232 hp (235 PS). Power is then sent to all four wheels (AWD) via the same 8-speed automatic gearbox, so this sporty saloon won’t get much faster than your off-the-shelf Camry hybrid.

As mentioned earlier, the new Toyota Camry GT-S Concept will be making its public debut at the upcoming 2025 SEMA Show, set to take place from Nov 4 to 7 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, where it will be showcased alongside “more than two dozen Toyota concept builds featured under this year’s theme, Powered by Possibility.”
Closer to home, the current ninth-gen (XV80) Camry is available in two variants, namely the full-combustion 2.5V (RM221,800) and the top-spec 2.5 HEV (RM248,800). While the likelihood of the Camry GT-S concept coming to our market is near zero, at least this sporty number will provide some inspiration for local Camry owners to spec out their own saloons.
