China’s MIIT filings revealed the initial specs for the new Lotus Eletre, featuring up to 355 km of pure electric range.

Early specs for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the Lotus Eletre have been revealed in China, thanks to an official filing made to the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Known as the Lotus Eletre “For Me,” this sleek crossover is set to become the brand’s first PHEV model, which is set to debut sometime later in Q1 2026.

As reported by CarNewsChina, the Eletre PHEV is said to underpin the same new 900-volt platform used on the Zeekr 9X. Similar to Zeekr’s flagship PHEV SUV, the Eletre PHEV adopts a sizable 70 kWh ternary NMC battery pack made in collaboration with CATL, which is good enough to provide up to 355 km of pure electric range, at least according to the more lenient CLTC standards.

The combustion element comes in the form of the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged engine as the 9X, which is capable of delivering up to 275 hp (205 kW) by itself. Besides sending additional power, said engine can act as a generator to the battery pack, which Geely claims can charge the pack from 30% to 80% in 90 minutes while driving at speeds up to 120 km/h.

While no details were given regarding its motor setup, the Eletre PHEV will likely adopt the same electric motor setup used on its Zeekr counterpart. For reference, the top-spec Zeekr 9X Hyper features a triple e-motor setup that can deliver a combined output of up to 1,381 hp (1,030 kW), allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds.

Visually, early images suggest that the Eletre PHEV gets the same design bits seen on its BEV twin, including all the active aerodynamic elements such as the rear spoiler, an active front grille with petal-like vents, and more. Said images also show that the Eletre PHEV will get the same retractable LiDAR setup on its roof, while the “For Me’ badge on the tailgate helps people to distinguish it from the EV version.

As mentioned earlier, the upcoming Lotus Eletre PHEV is set to make its global debut in China in Q1 next year, before making its way to the European market sometime later in the first half of 2026. The introduction of this PHEV variant of the Eletre is part of Lotus’ transition plan to introduce PHEV variants to all its models by 2028.
