O&J Highlights J7 PHEV Capabilities Through Customer Drive
-full_normal.jpg)
Omoda | Jaecoo (O&J) Malaysia recently held the Jaecoo J7 PHEV SHS Treasure Hunt 2025 - a nationwide customer engagement drive designed to bring owners closer to the brand whilst also showcasing the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model’s real-world efficiency.
The multi-day programme combined scenic driving routes, interactive challenges and community activities, giving participants an opportunity to experience the Jaecoo J7 PHEV in everyday conditions while reinforcing the brand’s focus on efficient and electrified mobility.

Chery Corporate Malaysia Executive Vice-President Men Lin Bo said the Super Hybrid System (SHS) is central to O&J’s strategy in Malaysia, with the Jaecoo J7 PHEV being the first local model to feature the technology. He noted that the system is designed to balance performance and efficiency to meet the expectations of local buyers.

The Treasure Hunt was conducted across three regions. The Northern leg took place from Dec 3 to 4, covering Penang, Kedah and Perak. This was followed by the Central region from Dec 5 to 6, with routes through Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Seremban. The programme concluded in the Southern region from Dec 7 to 8, spanning Johor and Melaka.
In total, 77 Jaecoo J7 SUVs with 160 participants took part across the three regional events. Vehicles were grouped into teams that followed pre-planned routes to landmarks, attractions and authorised O&J dealerships.

At each stop, participants completed tasks that tested teamwork, navigation and creativity, with points accumulated towards final rankings and prizes.
The event also allowed owners to share their real-world usage experiences. Kuala Lumpur-based owner Dr Karan Nair said his regular commute between Sendayan and the Klang Valley only requires refuelling once a week.

Another owner, Sasha How Kuan Yee, shared that a recent round trip from Melaka to Penang still left his Jaecoo J7 PHEV with a 100km indicated range, adding that recharging via a standard household outlet was convenient.
The Treasure Hunt builds on earlier endurance and range demonstrations for the Jaecoo J7 PHEV. Back in Oct 2024, Carz.com.my’s Mukhlis Azman joined an international convoy that drove more than 1,300 KM across China on a single tank of fuel and a full charge, exceeding the vehicle’s official electric-only range during the challenge.

This was followed by a cross-border drive in Jan 2025, where five Jaecoo J7 PHEVs travelled from Singapore through Malaysia to Hatyai, Thailand, with all vehicles surpassing their claimed driving range.
Locally assembled in Shah Alam, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is priced at RM158,800 and delivers a combined system output of 347 PS and 525 Nm. Until Dec 31, 2025, selected ownership benefits of up to RM14,000 are also available, subject to terms and conditions.
