Xpeng G7 Gains New EREV Version in China – 1,704 km Range, Debuts in Q1 2026

Unveiled in China ahead of its Q1 2026 debut is the new Xpeng G7 EREV, featuring up to 1,704 km of combined travel range.
Besides the new global version of the P7+, Xpeng has also unveiled the range-extender (EREV) version of the G7 SUV in China. Poised to go on sale later in Q1 2026, this EREV SUV is said to boast up to 430 km of EV-only range (CLTC) and a combined travel range of 1,704 km, possibly making it the longest-range SUV in the world.
And just like the BEV version, the G7 EREV is set to underpin the same 800-volt platform that can support up to 5C fast charging method, with its LFP battery capacity capped at 55.8 kWh, according to the filings at China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

The same filing also revealed that the G7 EREV will use Xpeng’s proprietary range-extender powertrain setup, which consists of a 1.5-litre turbocharged range-extender petrol engine rated at 148 hp (110 kW) and a sizable 60-litre fuel tank. Meanwhile, the electrified portion of the powertrain comes in the form of a single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor capable of delivering up to 292 hp (218 kW).

Predictably, no performance figures were revealed for now, except for its claimed EV-only range of 430 km, a combined range of up to 1,704 km, as well as its curb weight that ranges from 2,245 kg to 2,255 kg.

In terms of design, the G7 EREV retains the same sleek SUV crossover bodystyle as its battery electric (BEV) twin, as it continues to rock Xpeng’s signature X Face front design with a full-width LED DRL bar, a pair of lower-mounted LED headlights, and a clean front bumper design.

From the side, the G7 EREV retains the same sleek silhouette as its BEV twin, featuring hidden door handles, straight shoulder lines, and flared-out wheel arches. Dimension-wise, the EREV version is actually 26 mm longer than the BEV version, spanning 4,918 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, and 1,655 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.

At the rear, the G7 EREV retains the same through-type LED taillight cluster with C-shaped ends as its BEV twin, with the only notable change being the new Power X badge on the lower right corner of the tailgate—the same badge used on the X9 EREV to differentiate it from the BEV version.

As mentioned earlier, the all-new Xpeng G7 EREV is set to make its native Chinese market debut sometime later in Q1 this year, where it will be Xpeng’s third range-extender model after the X9 MPV and the P7+ fastback sedan. Prior to this, specs for the upcoming Xpeng G6 EREV were revealed via China’s MIIT filings, but no confirmed launch dates were shared, at least for now.
