Xpeng GX First Images Unveiled in China as Brand’s Flagship EREV SUV

First official images of the new Xpeng GX have surfaced in China, showcasing the brand’s new flagship EREV SUV.
Leading Chinese NEV marque Xpeng has unveiled the first official images of its new flagship range-extender (EREV) SUV, the Xpeng GX. This full-size SUV is poised to headline Xpeng’s growing EREV lineup, set to go against the likes of Zeekr 9X, Denza N9, Huawei Aito M9, and many more.
From the limited images, we can see that the GX carries some familiar design cues seen on many other popular luxury SUVs, where it features a more conventional boxy SUV bodystyle with straight lines and an upright stance, rather than the sleek and sharp design cues seen on other Xpeng models.

Some key exterior design highlights include full-width LED bars on both ends, a straight-up front face with an enclosed front grille, large multi-spoke wheels, a split two-piece tailgate, retractable door handles, and more. Keen eyes will also notice that the GX does not sport any LiDAR unit on it, as Xpeng prefers to rely on a visual-based assisted driving system powered by its high-performance Turing AI chips.
While no interior photos were unveiled for now, CarNewsChina reports that the GX will feature three rows of seats with a six-seater configuration to match some of its rivals. Buyers can also expect some hi-tech amenities such as Xpeng’s own AR-HUD, multiple screens, and many more.

Also remaining under wraps for now are the powertrain details for the new GX. That said, we’ve been told that this flagship SUV will adopt Xpeng’s latest Kunpeng Super Electric System, which features a 5C battery technology and a combined range of over 1,000 km.
Fortunately, it won’t be long before we get to know all the details regarding the new Xpeng GX, as this flagship EREV SUV is reportedly slated to make its global debut at the upcoming Auto China 2026 motor show, set to take place in Beijing later in April. By then, we’ll also get to know whether Xpeng has any plans to make this flagship SUV part of its growing international product lineup, which saw the recent inclusion of the new 2026 Xpeng P7+ fastback saloon.
