These Limited Edition Puma Kicks Celebrate 60 Years Of The Porsche 911
Sportswear giant Puma teamed up with Porsche to honour 60 years of the latter iconic 911 sportscar model via two special pairs of stylish and limited edition trainers.
In honour of the iconic Porsche 911 sportscar’s 60th anniversary year this year, sportswear giant Puma have teamed up with the Stuttgart-based sportscar marque to create two limited edition pair of kicks to mark said occasion. Notably, each pair were inspired by a specific 911 model from the past and present.
As a nod to the car that inspired it, this classically-styled blue design is limited to just 1,972 pairs worldwide.
We’ll start with the first pair which sees its design and aesthetics inspired by the 1972 Porsche 911 S(T) model. Finished in Light Blue, this one boasts the slimmest profile amongst the two designs unveiled, which was deliberate as it reflects the original 1970s classic sportscar’s smaller stature.
These particular pair also bear the number 56 on the heel as a nod to said Porsche model’s track-focused design. It also sports the 911 grille badge on both the ‘tongue’ of the shoe and its innards, subtle yet tasty red contrast stitching motif, and both red and black-coloured laces included.
Also, this specific design sees Puma limiting its release to just 1,972 pairs worldwide. This is amplified further by the fact that each pair will come with its very own series number etched to confirm its limited-run status too.
These particular pair in grey were inspired by the recently launched 992-gen Porsche 911 S/T special. Though limited to just 1,963 pairs, Puma has allocated each new 911 S/T customer with one pair too.
Moving on to the second pair, this design sees Puma drawing inspiration from the newer and recently launched 992-gen Porsche 911 S/T special. Like the car that inspired it, this pair gets a contemporary shade of grey mirroring said 992-based special’s Shore Blue Metallic hue, plus a cognac brown inner lining – just like said actual car’s cabin too.
Similar to the other pair, this design is sports the number 63 that references the birth year of the original first 911 model, as well as the Porsche brand lettering on its heel. It also gets treated with subtle red accents, as well as both red and black laces included – that last feature being a shared trait in both designs.
For this more modern pair, Puma plans to offer just 1963 pairs world wide – said number again in reference to the original first 911 model’s debut year. Moreover, Puma has also allocated a pair of these more modern design choice for each customer of the Porsche 911 S/T.
A detailed look at both designs by Puma that's available exclusively via the Porsche Museum stores in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and Weissach.
Of course, you need not be one of said buyers of the new 992-based S/T special mentioned to get your hands on either pair. However, it still requires a trip to the Porsche Museum stores located in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and Weissach where they’re being retailed exclusively starting 6 Sept at undisclosed prices.
While these may be out of reach for most, the latest Puma Autumn/Winter Motorsports 2023 collection aren't. You can find out about these, which just entered Puma store shelves locally, by clicking these blue words...
