Amalgam Collection's Ferrari 12Cilindri Scale Model Costs As Much As A Perodua Alza!
Renowned UK-based Amalgam Collection revealed its latest creation, and it sees the firm miniaturising the new Ferrari 12Cilindri.
At Carz.com.my, we’re no strangers to UK-based Amalgam Collection. In fact, the marque is renowned for its exquisite hand-crafted scale models that don’t come cheap. In fact, a lot of its creations costs as much some real world cars.
The firm’s latest addition, which sees its miniaturising the new Ferrari 12Cilindri, costs as much as a brand new Perodua Alza would, and perhaps slightly more too. That’s because this petite rendition commands a starting price of US$18,220, which roughly equates to RM76,579.
Built to a 1:8 scale, this latest offering from Amalgam Collection measures 59 CM (23 inches) long!
Notably, this scale model was built using thousands of precisely engineered parts, casting, photo-etchings, and CNC-machined metal parts using original CAD designs, paint codes and material specs from Ferrari!
Nevertheless, in true Amalgam Collection fashion, this 1:8 scale rendition of Ferrari’s latest flagship V12-engined supercar is meticulously hand built to scale to mirror the full-sized real car in incredible detail. The fact this is done using only “finest quality materials” according to the firm adds to which.
Evidently, the latter sees the use of thousands of precisely engineered parts, casting, photo-etchings, as well as metal components that were CNC machined. Notably, all were built using original CAD designs, paint codes and material specifications from Ferrari themselves.
As for the interior, this first build unit is dressed in Blu Sterling motif.
Amalgam Collection adds that this scale model Ferrari 12Cilindri took over 3,000 hours to develop, and over 300 hours is required for its craftsmen to produce each piece. Aptly, the results speaks for itself, and perhaps helps to justify its outrageous price tag somewhat.
The unit Amalgam Collection revealed online happened to be dressed in Ferrari’s signature Rosso Imola exterior paint. This gets matched on board with an interior draped in Blu Sterling motif. In all, this scale model sits some 59 CM (23 inches) long once completed.
Typical of Amalgam Collection, production of its latest 1:8 Ferrari 12Cilindri build will be limited to just 199 units globally.
Apart from this scarlet-hued first build, Amalgam Collection says it can also create bespoke units tailored to each owner’s specification. In other words, Ferrari 12Cilindri customers can commission highly accurate and miniaturised versions of their cars with the firm, albeit at higher costs too - naturally.
Again, just like some of the real world cars its miniaturises, Amalgam Collection typically keeps its production volume on the low side of things. This latest Ferrari 12Cilindri offering is no exception, and the firm is seeking to cap it at just 199 pieces worldwide.
By the way, Amalgam Collection has a history of making exquisite scale models from Ferrari. This new 12Cilindri follows up from the firm’s astounding miniaturisation of the prancing horse marque’s 296 GT3 racecar, as well as its groundbreaking yet divisive Purosangue.
