As teased beforehand, Stellantis Malaysia chose to make a splash at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) happening this week. Apart from teasing potential new models from both its Citroën and Leapmotor brands, the firm expanded its Peugeot brand line-up a little too.
Unveiled at its stand during the show’s Press Day earlier this week was the new Peugeot Landtrek SE. It joins the existing Landtrek Allure variant that’s now slotted below which, and both models are now officially sold as locally assembled (CKD) offerings by Stellantis Malaysia.
As you can probably guess, the Landtrek SE arrives with a variety of additional accessories and featues equipped, along with what Stellantis Malaysia says is an updated suspension tuning that promises enhanced and sportier handling.
The Peugeot Landtrek is now locally assembled (CKD) in Gurun, Kedah at Stellantis Malaysia's assembly plant. It also gains a new and up-specced Landtrek SE variant pictured.
Standout features of the Landtrek SE include new tailgate dampers, striking decals adorned on the outer sides of the flatbed, and wheel arch extensions finished in black. Other additions include stylish black Peugeot tag bezels, door visors, as well as nifty new tubular black side-steps.
That aside, a key new feature primed on board the Landtrek SE variant is a new Tyre Precision Cameras suite aimed at easing low-speed maneuvers. Additionally, this French silver lion-badged pick-up truck comes in two exclusive paintjob options – Rockstone Grey or Ceramic White.
The Peugeot Landtrek Allure variant as tested prior in fully imported (CBU) form. This guise of the French silver lion marque's 4x4 pick-up truck is now CKD as well, and is priced from RM124,124.
Apart from which, little else has changes from the regular Landtrek Allure variant this new and up-specced SE variant builds upon. This include the 1.9-litre 4-cyl turbo-diesel powertrain rated at 150 HP and 350 NM, as well as the 6-speed automatic box and 4x4 driveline said mill is paired with.
Retained in the Landtrek SE too are much of the standard features and amenities primed in the Landtrek Allure that this new higher-spec variant builds upon. As for safety, the following features are primed as standard in the Landtrek SE too:
Excluding insurance costs, the new Peugeot Landtrek SE variant is now on sale via authorised dealers priced at RM129,124, where as the base Landtrek Allure variant is now tagged at RM124,124. Included in said prices too is a 3-year or 100,000 KM warranty coverage.
Notably, keen prospects can experience the enhanced new Landtrek SE at MAS 2024 through an exclusive off-road test-drive program. Participants need only register for this test-drive at Stellantis Malaysia’s show booth in Hall A1, and the program runs daily throughout the show from 10AM to 8PM.
