- Minor Updates Abound For Mercedes-Benz C-Class And GLC
The W206-gen C-Class range (S206 estate variant pictured) has received a slew of minor updates.
Mercedes-Benz has announced a series of minor changes for two of its best-sellers – the C-Class saloon and GLC crossover. Amongst the changes is an all-new infotainment suite plus an updated colour palette.
Starting with the infotainment, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) suite has been beefed up with 5G connectivity, followed by support for third-party apps. The latter can be downloaded and installed via the Mercedes Me Store, and includes music streaming and video games.

The display itself has been smartened up with a new streamlined interface. Details are limited presently, but the three-point star marque says this revised user interface has smartphone-like “tiles for pleasant useability and ease of intuitive operation.”
Additionally, the uprated MBUX suite also harnesses artificial intelligence (AI) to automate some functions and features. As an example, users can now set routines that automatically activates the climate control at the preferred settings, and more.
Other changes include a switch to a new leather-free steering wheel, which will be offered as part of an all-new leather-free interior choice.
New exterior colours are abound for the X254-gen GLC crossover pictured above. The new Manufaktur Alpine Grey hue id also available for the C-Class saloon.
Moving on to the GLC crossover and it’s most obvious changes lie in its updated colour choices. Included now is a Verde Silver Metallic hue, along with a new Manufaktur Alpine Grey Uni option – the latter also offered in the updated C-Class mentioned.
Lastly, Mercedes-Benz also detailed that both the GLC and GLC Coupe can now be primed with a digital key tech that enables owners access the vehicle via their smartphones. This digital key can be shared across 16 profiles in total, thus granting easier access to friends and family.
Presently, both these revisions are offered on C-Class and GLC/GLC Coupe models sold in Germany only. However, we reckon these will also soon reflect in the localised (CKD) W206-generation C-Class and GLC models that rolls off the line from MBM’s Pekan plant.
