- smart Malaysia x UOW Short Video Contest Winners Announced
Winners of smart Malaysia and UOW’s ‘Electrifying The Future’ short video contest have been announced.
smart Malaysia (PRO-NET) has announced the winners of the ‘Electrifying The Future’ short video contest, which was held in collaboration with the University of Wollongong (UOW) Malaysia. From the ten finalists announced prior, three lucky winners were announced today, with the top spot given to Team 2 Fast 2 Smart.
Thanks to their captivating and humorous video that highlighted the unique features and benefits of the smart #1 EV, Team 2 Fast 2 Smart took home the grand prize of RM5,000. Meanwhile, runner-ups Team JSL and Team SJY Studio also took home consolation prizes for their top-three finishes, worth RM4,000 and RM3,000, respectively.
Apart from the top-three winners, an Honourable Mention prize of RM1,000 was also given to Team Jus Mad, while Team BCM was awarded RM1,000 for getting the most likes and shares for their video.
Tasked with selecting the winners for this competition was a panel of judges comprising senior members from both smart Malaysia and UOW Malaysia, where the finalists were given the opportunity to share the insights and motivations behind their videos to the judges throughout the contest period, which started back on May 31, 2024.

Commenting on the success of the ‘Electrifying The Future’ contest, smart Malaysia (PRO-NET) CEO Zhang Qiang said, “STEAM capabilities are becoming increasingly relevant for the future, and this competition allows students to align with our goal of reimagining the future with EV cars. The storytelling concepts and ideas from our students are creative, with added humour, and I want to congratulate the winning teams. These students represent the future and have the right mindset to tell the story of the society we aspire to create.”
Meanwhile, UOW Malaysia Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hiew Pang Leang said, “It has been a privilege to be part of the students’ journey, ensuring that creative thinking is integrated into their syllabus while showcasing their talent through developing short videos. They demonstrated an excellent understanding of how to convey messages about the new EV lifestyle, creatively telling stories about the positive impact of EVs and how they can inspire global change.”
