- Physical Driving Licences, Road Tax Back Next Year - Loke
According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, a new initiative will be implemented next year for individuals who want to get physical driving licences and road tax. He informed the Dewan Rakyat, according to NST sources, that this is in response to public complaints that some people still prefer to utilize physical driving licenses and road tax.
In response to Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (PH-Ledang), he stated, "Next year we will announce an initiative for anyone who wishes to print their licence physically and they may need to pay for the printing."
Though he did not go into detail about the charges that will be levied, the minister reaffirmed that there would be no going back in terms of the entire transition to digital, and that work on this front would focus on identifying areas for improvement.
"Since the launch of the JPJ’s digitalisation initiative, the ministry and the department have been committed to continuously improving the MyJPJ application to enhance the delivery of online services to the public," he told reporters.
