- Toyota Start Your Impossible Outrun 2025 Raises RM200,000 For Cancer


Marking its fourth annual edition, the Toyota Start Your Impossible Outrun 2025 successfully attracted over 6,500 runners to take part in Putrajaya last weekend.



Leading automaker UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) successfully held its Toyota Start Your Impossible (SYI) Outrun 2025 event recently. Marking its fourth annual edition, the running event was held last weekend (July 27) in Putrajaya.
More than a running race, this landmark event was designed to highlight Toyota's role as a pioneering mobility company that’s committed towards uplifting communities. “The SYI Outrun is a powerful reminder of the positive change we inspire when we move with meaning,” remarked UMWT president Datuk Ravindran K.



Three running categories were stages, those being the staple 5 KM and 10 KM classes plus a new 21 KM leg debuting in this year's edition.




The Toyota SYI Outrun 2025 attracted 6,500 entrants competing across three its staple 5 KM and 10 KM categories, as well as a newly added 21 KM leg. Entry fees stood at RM55, RM75 and RM95 respectively per person. From which, UMWT were also able to raise RM200,000 in funding for the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
Among the thousands were participants from all walks of life, including running club members of Persatuan Pelari Anak Luar Biasa – Little Fighter Runners and Bikeisable, whose presence reflected the event’s inclusive spirit touts UMWT.


The event also doubled up as a mini wellness fest and even saw free health screening provided.



Apart from the running contest itself, the Toyota SYI Outrun 2025 event also doubled up as a mini wellness fest. During which, participants were able to explore interactive booths manned by key event partners like the NCSM, N8 Sports Nutrition, and ATF Sport Taping. On offer for participants too were free health screenings.
Additionally, UMWT also had its display fleet present. On show here were Toyota brand staples like the Vios B-segment saloon, the sporty Yaris G Limited hatch and Hilux GR Sport 4x4 pick-up truck, as well as the revamped Corolls Cross HEV.



UMWT also had a fleet of vehicles showcased, plus a slew of interactive activites and motorsports showcase held during the event.




Bolstering this too were the addition of both the Toyota Activity Zone and Gazoo Racing Showcase, the former bringing a slew of interactive challenges whilst the latter brought the Toyota brand’s motorsports excitement to life for participants.




Over RM138,000 in cash prizes were awarded to top 10 finishers in both the 10 KM and 21 KM categories.
Back to the main running event itself and this year, the top 10 finishers in both the 10 KM and new 21 KM categories took home cash prizes worth over RM138,000 in total. Other participants also won prizes like a Sony PlayStation 5, Sony Bravia TV and Garmin Forerunner Triathlon watch worth over RM19,000 in total through a special Lucky Draw.
Additionally, 21 KM class finishers were also treated with an exclusive jersey that doubled up as both the event’s memento and personal victory mark.
