TMRAMN09032111-1.jpg Rapid KL is extending train hours and adding more frequent services from Oct 27–28 to support travel during the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur.

The Ministry of Transport said train operations on all Rapid KL lines will start earlier and end later, with morning peak hours extended to 6.30AM-10AM and evening peaks from 4.30PM-8PM.

On the Kelana Jaya Line, trains will run every five minutes, while Monorail services will operate every eight minutes. The Ampang/Sri Petaling, Kajang, and Putrajaya lines will follow their regular schedules with extra monitoring.

About 400 additional staff will be stationed at major stops to help manage the expected passenger surge. Extra trains will also be deployed if needed.

"Some Rapid KL bus routes, including 300, 302, 303, and 402, as well as On-Demand services in Titiwangsa, Chow Kit, and the CBD, may face delays due to temporary road closures," the ministry said in a statement.

Commuters heading to KLCC and nearby areas are advised to use rail services via stations such as KLCC (Kelana Jaya Line), Persiaran KLCC (Putrajaya Line), Conlay (Putrajaya Line), Raja Chulan (Monorail), and Bukit Bintang (Kajang and Monorail).

Meanwhile, KTM Komuter services on the Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves and Tanjung Malim-Port Klang routes will operate as usual.

"Commuters are urged to plan ahead, check real-time updates through Rapid KL’s social media or the PULSE app, and opt for public transport to avoid congestion during the summit period," it concluded.
