- KTMB Adds Extra ETS Trips For Deepavali Travel Rush
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is adding two extra Electric Train Service (ETS) trips between Padang Besar and Kuala Lumpur Sentral from Oct 17 to 22, just in time for the Deepavali travel rush.
Tickets for these additional services will be available starting 10AM on Tuesday, Oct 7, with 630 extra seats a day or a total of 3,780 seats across six days, including Business Class coaches.
“This initiative is aimed at meeting high passenger demand during the festive season while helping to ease road congestion for those returning to their hometowns,” KTMB said in a statement.
The extra train from Padang Besar to KL Sentral departs at 11.05AM and arrives at 4.30PM, while the return service from KL Sentral leaves at 5.00PM and reaches Padang Besar at 10.20PM.
Passengers are encouraged to buy tickets through the KTMB Mobile app (KITS) or the official KTMB website, and use the KTM Wallet for faster checkout.
The rail operator urged travellers to plan their journeys and purchase tickets early to enjoy lower fares under the flexi-pricing system and avoid last-minute congestion.
“Passengers are also reminded to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before departure, as boarding gates will close five minutes before the train leaves," it concluded. For more information, visit http://www.ktmb.com.my or call the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.
