UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) becomes Malaysia's first non-national automaker to chart over 100,000 units annual sales for the fourth consecutive year in 2025.

For the fourth consecutive year, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) saw its annual sales surpass the 100,000 units mark in 2025. The automaker closed the year off by shifting 14,284 units in Dec 2025, bringing its 2025 total sales up to 102,417 units.

The effort puts UMW Toyota Motor as the first and only non-national automaker in Malaysia to chart over 100,000 units sales for four years in a row too.

Overall, UMWT shifted 102,417 vehicles in Malaysia throughout 2025, with 14,284 units from which being charted in Dec 2025 alone.

UMWT credits the stellar effort being driven by its position as a “trusted and sought-after brand” that’s built on decades of consistency, credibility, and proven ownership experience. Moreover, the feat also comes amidst increased competition and electrification that also shifted customer expectations.

“Sustaining this level of performance in a highly competitive and fast-changing market reflects the strength of our long-term strategy, our investment in local capabilities, and our deep understanding of how Malaysians use their vehicles,” adds Datuk Ravindran K., president of UMWT.

UMWT also credits the Toyota Multi-Pathway Approach for its success. Stemming from which is the balanced portfolio of products encompassing ICE, HEV and future-ready tech, adds the firm.

Besides that, the firm also noted that this success was also driven by the renowned Toyota Multi-Pathway Approach. Offering a balanced portfolio spanning traditional combustion (ICE), hybrid (HEV) and future-ready tech, the firm continues to advance the Toyota brand’s “Mobility For All” ethos through which too.

“We remain committed to delivering mobility solutions that are practical, inclusive, and reliable, ensuring Toyota continues to serve Malaysians today and for generations to come,” continued Datuk Ravindran K. further in his statement in an official press release issued by the firm earlier today.

Looking ahead, UMWT says it will continue with network expansion to strengthen its service excellence. Concurrently, it also aims to introduce initiatives aligned with evolving customer expectations.

Moreover, the automaker is also poised to expand its model line-up further with critical new additions. Key models like the Vios Hybrid electrified B-segment sedan and the Yaris Cross Hybrid B-segment SUV are both tipped for launch this year.
