Zeekr 8X PHEV SUV Official Images Unveiled Ahead of 1H 2026 Debut

Official images of the upcoming Zeekr 8X flagship PHEV SUV have surfaced in China ahead of its debut later this year.
Following its initial teaser and specification leaks, premium Chinese NEV marque Zeekr has published the first few official images of its new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV, the Zeekr 8X. Set to go alongside the Zeekr 9X as the brand’s flagship PHEV SUV duo, the upcoming 8X is slated to make its official launch sometime later in the first half of 2026.

At one glance, we can see the similarities in design between the 8X and the 9X, particularly at the front where the former also adopts a waterfall-style front grille with chrome inserts, which are then flanked by a pair of C-shaped LED headlights. Several chrome trims can also be seen on both the front bumper and the window surround, while customers can choose either 20-, 21-, or 22-inch alloy wheels for the SUV.

From the side, the 8X adopts a more rounded SUV bodystyle compared to the boxier and more chiseled 9X, thus making it look very similar to the likes of the Toyota Century SUV and Bentley Bentayga. Dimension-wise, the Zeekr 8X is also on par with the two aforementioned adversaries, spanning 5,100 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,780 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3,069 mm.

Moving further back, the 8X adopts full-width LED taillights with the same C-shaped rear ends to match the front LEDs, with Zeekr claiming the whole light bar is composed of over 50,000 diamond-shaped facets to give it a unique lighting signature. Other key bits present at the exterior include electric side steps, a power-retractable towing hook at the rear, and many more.
While no interior images were published for now, Zeekr did tell us that the upcoming 8X will be offered in both five- and six-seater configurations, and we presume that the latter will be spread across three rows of seats.

As for the powertrain setup, filings with China’s Ministry of Information Technology and Industry (MIIT) revealed that the 8X shares the same SEA-S platform and PHEV powertrain setup with its bigger sibling, featuring a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol engine rated at 275 hp as its core. Buyers can get the 8X with either 55.1 kWh or 70 kWh battery options, with the latter capable of delivering a pure electric range of up to 328 km (WLTC).
That said, it remains to be seen whether the 8X will be offered with the same triple electric motor setup and 6C charging capability seen on the 9X, with the former granting the SUV a combined output of up to 1,381 hp (1,030 kW).

As mentioned earlier, the upcoming Zeekr 8X is slated to make its official debut sometime later in 1H 2026, but we can expect to know more about this new flagship PHEV SUV as time goes on.
