Gemas-JB Double Tracking Project To Fully Complete in 2023

Recently Bernama has reported that the Gemas Johor Bahru Electrified Double Tracking Project has reached 85% of its completion. According to Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, he highlighted on the project which shall be fully completed by next year.
‘’Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) is waiting for someone for the completion of a depot in Kempas. Also, we will use the partial completion method to test the electric train service using that track,’’ he told the media after inspected KTM Kluang Station on November 14.
On top of that, the electrified double-tracking project which covers 192 kilometres of tracks will be going through 11 stations. Once completed, trains will be operated to cover the KL Sentral – JB Sentral route in three hours and 30 minutes at a speed of 140 km per hour.
